Wake Up Call! Heart, health and priorities

    This past Friday was a wake up call.
    I haven’t shared much with too many people in the past few weeks about this, and I’ve been debating posting this, but here we go...
    Friday, I had a heart catheter procedure done to figure out why I have been having chest pains for the last few months, a weird heart flutter episode, and ultimately, why I failed a treadmill stress test in which the EKG showed indications of having blockages in my heart.
    The good news, the catheter test came back clear and they no found blockages. Now I’ve got new meds to take daily, follow up appointments to come, and, of course, the eventual medical bills which will be loads of fun.
    After this coming week of resting and healing my femoral artery is over, it’s indubitably time to really buckle down and focus on my physical health. I’ll start this week by paying more attention to my diet.
    Ladies and Gents, listen to your bodies. Take care of yourselves, make yourself and your health a priority. If many of you are like me, you’re most worried about taking care of your family, your job, your side projects, your friends, and every other single priority that you have, and you simply put yourself and your health last. Without question, that has been me.
    So, moving forward, in addition to taking care of my responsibilities - which I still undoubtedly can and will - I have to make time each day to make myself and my health a higher priority. If you feel like you might also be putting yourself last, perhaps you can learn from me. Perhaps now might be a great time to make a change for yourself as well.
    REMEMBER: I am not a medical doctor. If you are looking to start a new health regiment, make sure to consult your doctor first to see that you are healthy enough to do so. I did, and this is why this video exists.

    450% recommend yoga!! If you need help getting started, I HIGHLY recommend Yoga with Adriene here on UA-cam. That’s how I got started with her morning yoga videos.
    This video was a wake up call to me too! I need to make me a higher priority. I’ll look forward to hearing your updates and learning more. Take care!!

      Thank you, and I will take a look at that Yoga channel. I've heard great things about Yoga, and I'm sure I could stand to gain a bit more flexibility! :)

    How old are you? This is what worked for me, 1) Kitchen scale to weigh food, 2) Track calories in Apps like Cronometer or Myfitnesspal , 3) Track my weight every day, 4) Eat around 400 calories below maintenance.
