Картина рассказывает об американо-вьетнамской войне конца 60-х - начала 70-х гг. 20-го века.
По тропе Хо Ши Мина движется караван вьетнамских партизан. Среди них - американская актриса и певица Кэт Френсис, приехавшая во Вьетнам, чтобы рассказать по возвращении на родину правду об этой войне. В Хайфоне Май, вьетнамская подруга Кэт, знакомит ее со своим мужем сапером Фонгом, который только что возвратился на родину из Советского Союза на торговом судне «Челябинск». Чудом друзьям удается предотвратить взрыв в Хайфонском порту, который готовили американские спецслужбы.

The film tells of the American Vietnam War of the late 1960s-early 1970s.
A caravan of Vietnamese guerrillas is moving along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Among them is an American actress and singer, Kate Francis, who came to Vietnam in order, on her return home, to tell the truth about that war. In Haiphong, Kate’s Vietnamese friend, May, introduces the actress to her husband, sapper Fong, who just came back from the Soviet Union on the merchant ship “Chelyabinsk”. Only by some miracle the friends manage to foil an explosion at the Haiphong port that was prepared by the American secret service.
