❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ YES, classics and fantasy are perfect for winter read! For December I picked “The Familiar”. Definitely Agatha Christie! Definitely your book club pick!
The Last Man is HEARTBREAKING. She wrote it after her husband and her child died and she poured her grief into this book. And of course, it’s Mary Shelley, so it’s beautifully written
Ahh I am SO EXCITED for our buddy read!!! What a great way to start off 2025! I'm interested to hear your thoughts about Cabaret Macabre. I have read all three books, all are enjoyable, but the first is my favorite. His book should be able to be read out of order; there are some nods to past cases, but that is fine. ALSO my favorite part is that the author breaks the fourth wall in classic golden age fashion and pauses the narrative to tell you when you have received all necessary clues to solve the crime. Plus a good old-fashioned clue key in the back!
⛄️ That’s a great mix, and I applaud your return to Strange and Norrell - doesn’t it begin in winter (could be misremembering). Just seen that Susanna Clarke’s published a new Midwinter short story as a lovely little hardback 🤩
❄️⛄️⛷️ The Hunger Games reread sounds like a fun time for early next year. I never read Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes but have read the original trilogy and enjoyed the movies. All depends on MOOD however with me 😁 I’ve ordered Mystery of Mistletoe Hall which you recommended last year. My library doesn’t have it. 🍃❤🍃
Im looking forward to it, it will be fun to see if i still like them. Oh amazing, I hope you like Mystery of Mistletoe Hall. You will have to let me know how you get on with it
🌨☃ I don't have a clear winter TBR, but i do have a couple of christmas books in mind that i would like to read in December and i know that i want to read If on a Winternight a Traveller by Italo Calvino (Italian classsic) in January
