exactly, world forget that ukraine used this city to shell the population of donetsk city i've seen lots of videos of the shelling in middle of the donetsk city, not just that but capturing avdivka opens the gate to 2nd line of defense and strategic loss for ukraine. Why to explain it so complex? Avdivka is near Donetsk city, that is the city that most suffered civilians loses the last 10 years. The only way to protect the population is to move the front line far from the city. After this ukranian army moved their focus to kill civilians in Belgorod. That forced Russia to conduct operations on Kharkiv region.

Your theories about the justification of Avdiivka are the EU perception of it. Russia will take Avdiivka simply because it is Russian and Russia will protect its population. Furthermore giving Ukraine 300km ATACMS is forcing Russia to take even more territories in order to maintain a buffer zone protecting its population.
