Buses in Warrington | July 2024

A visit to Warrington prior to the fleet of Warrington's Own Buses becoming 100% electric. As part of the Government ZEBRA scheme, 105 Volvo BZLs have been ordered comprising 72 single deckers and 33 double deckers. The single deckers will be to three varying lengths - 12m, 10.8m and 9m. Coupled with this, the entire fleet will be re-branded from red and blue to a yellow/black based scheme, despite red having featured in various forms for over 120 years! The first of these electric vehicles has arrived in the shape of 1001 - BV24 LPN and is captured on Driver Familiarisation runs. Also seen are a number of Arriva vehicles as well as various Stagecoach Bee Network types in addition to a number of vehicles run by smaller operators. One thing for sure, the variety of vehicle types run by Warrington's Own Buses is set to diminish very rapidly in the not too distant future.
