A classic text in applied maths, full of worked examples and useful exercises. Personally, I learn best by worked example. Good to see a review of it. It is available in hardback (used, of course); my softcover copy was bought new (I'm quite old) at a cover price of £3.85 (less in $)!
I cannot believe you haven’t reviewed “Who is Fourier?” and “What is Quantum Mechanics?” from a Japanese language-learning group and published in English in 2009 and 2012.
I have given away "Who is Fourier" as present to my nephews, nieces and kids of friends, for a total of 6 copies, plus mine. It starts with the four basic arithmetic operations, goes through geometry, trigonometry, calculus, Fourier transforms, FFTs and ends up with Heinsberg Uncertainty Principle...all in 300+ pages told by funny/engaging manga characters...a gem of book 👍🏽
Have you covered Algebra: Chapter 0 by Paolo Aluffi? This is my favorite algebra book. It provides a course in abstract algebra for undergraduates, with the addition of category theory. It is amazing.
In India it's 4:50 early morning now I completing my lec based on System of linear equation by linear Transformation.....pls give me blessings so that I will crack my upcoming exams🙏🙏🙏
Good day Sir. The book looks like a good one. Please, may you help me get the book. How much will it cost me. I live in Abuja, Nigeria. Thanks. Festus.
How would I learn physics if I want to become an electrician and where should I start from the ground up because you need physics as an electrician in Canada and is a highschool requirement and for the job?
A really good physics book that starts from the bottom with a lot of excercises and an instructor manual is Young and Freedman university physics. Its an amazing book. If you do the excercises you will get a really strong base for physics. Although its worth mentioning it covers around 2 years worth of experimental physics of a physics degree with very little emphasis on theoretical physics. However its great to get an intuition and the solutions are really helpful. Its also best to pick up a good calculus book since calculus is the heart and soul of physics. Just take your time and make sure you understand the basics. Although I have to say I know a few electricians with not that deep physics knowledge. So you might be better off asking electricians about the requirements. But the fact you are here tells you might be interested more than just the practical skills and also care about the beauty of it so dont curb the curiousity :)
When you are old you don’t give a shit what others think. Go for it!! We will cheer you on!! I am almost your age. Just do whatever you will be proud of yourself doing.

The DNA book they did is also great.
Who is Fourier ……fantastic. I will look for the other 2.

Math is fun
Agreed!!!!
It's the best thing in the world
Sometimes, she can be a bit cruel
How many questions and hours of study you do daily ?
yesss
Nice book. I remember some good books by Carslaw & Jaeger on heat conduction topics.
Looks like a good book!
I enjoyed Foundations of Applied Mathematics by Michael Greenberg
Please be nice to the pages. Esp with your thumbs.

good luck
Happy Hunting!
Good luck. 👍
All the best , but don't study for exam buddy. Study because you love it , results are byproduct of studying.
GATE ?
So bring out weird crazy stuff!
This is quite a hard book to find!

Have you reviewed "The Algebraic Eigenvalue Problem" by J.H. Wilkinson?
Topology for Analysis by Albert Wilansky is an amazing book.
Not cheap… that is correct.
1000th Like!
strong
any thing related to fourier and my brain remembers mark newman.
looked up Vivian Ridler 😅
This is the kinda book you'll get in a math methods class during an undergraduate physics degree.
brutal
Is 60 too old to pursue a doctorate in math?
no
Of course not!
