You will probably never see a more amazing movie than Mary and Max. I felt every single emotion from this movie, anger, joy, sadness... The way the writer handled Max's mental illness was amazing, even before he was diagnosed, I could tell he had aspergers by the way he handled situations, how he had a schedule for almost everything, and if anything was out of place he'd have a breakdown. How he was so creative with food, however couldn't tell facial expressions apart or show emotions himself even though he felt them, like when he said "my brain smiles" Amazing movie.... simply amazing.
This song perfectly captures the sensation of living a life fraught with loneliness and hopelessness. While at the same time experiencing fleeting, beautiful moments that encourage you to continue on the chance that you could make it into a part of life full of happiness and success.
I saw this movie when i was about 8 or 9 and the message still got though to me- it was heart wrenching and thought provoking and this message has continued to mean more and more to me as I have gotten older and been able to appreciate it more.

I think Mac Millers song Missed Calls "almost" sorta kinda sounds like this song. I was listening to it and all I could think of was this very song.. Give it a listen... I could be totally wring and way off but it sounds almost "similar" to me :)

It has already been eight years. Nearly half my life ago I heard this for the first time and it still remains with me.

Why does this remind me of Fade Into Darkness by Avicii?
Because Aviccii copied the original PCO song, too (I think). The original version is the Penguin Cafe Orchestra song.
I highly doubt Avicii copied this song, the tune is so simple and this film is so obscure.
+UncleDayzy he didn't copy this music from this movie but sampled the song Perpetuum Mobile by Penguin Cafe Orchestra which this movie used aswell.
