and around a decade later, Mark Ruffalo & Gwyneth Paltrow meet again in Marvel movies, idk what happened to the thousands of talents that are heading to hollywood every year, cuz i realize they always end up using the same actor or actresses in a lot of movies even after decades, is it such a small industry? or the talents chosen are really that talented for the role? or there's something more behind it that we don't know?

the box office attraction of big name stars. It's abusiness, so it's all about the money. Most producers do not like taking risks with no name actors. of course that means they miss out on 'the next new biggest star.'
it is strange from my point of view. I would think to myself in business that no name actors could be really good with the bonus of being really cheap.
I also find the general audience strange. I don't watch the credits and have no idea who is who. I just know the faces or voices as a face or voice from another movie or show. So big names aren't an attraction to me.
There is a lot of movies and not that many actors.
It's a business. Studios look for actors who sell tickets and are terrified of putting out a flop. Think about how many people you know whose first reaction to a new film is "who's in it?".
But then, the coda here is that _this_ film took a hit, and a pretty big one, as I recall -- $11-12 million less than budget, IIRC.
I wasn’t available at the time for that role but ruffalo did ok.
