What a surprise to see this event being filmed. I was there visiting from Australia that day. I had with me pictorial books of American Buses operating Downunder for Ansett Pioneer. MCI's, GMC's, Eagles (Greyhound Australia had these), Aussie built Dennings & Austral Tourmasters. First coach I ever drove here in Australia was a RHD MCI MC8 with 4spd stick. Thanks for posting this video for all to see and remember that great day.
Where did this take place, NY right? How come I didn't hear about this.. I wish Suffolk Transit on Long Island kept some of their old 1987 and 1991 Gillig Phantoms around as well as their 1993 Flxible's instead of junking all of them
What a grand experience that was. I was there & took a lot of pictures of these buses pulling out How those buses started those engines WOW! 😱
Best bus I ever drove until 1998 when I retired from Command bus . It was like a race car compared to the 1960's we were driving lol
Great video.
that thing sounds nice as hell
Michael Hatten last time i checked, hell was a nice sounding place
That bus actually sounds like crap. Runs quite rough.

So the tailpipe is at the bottom? That's rare.
Thuam X not really rare majority of the ones I’ve ever came across the tailpipe was always at the bottom.

This took place at The New York City Transit Museum in Brooklyn, New York.🚌
Why did city bus always have the engine in the back
Because it leaves more space inside for the passengers, the driver, and engine access is easier.
is that bus still in service or is it retired
hi jp
