In an older version of speaking this poem, he shoutet"I too want to be a poem. I don't wanna be this Pain with the language used to unearth it... "
Here he just falls with it.

    I'm the candel,
    Your the flame.
Without you im a solid human being,
Then you came into my life,
    A storm of immense proportions.
Passion burned so bright for so many years,
While together I held ur fire above all.
    Let it burn me,
    Without thought of any consequences.
    Then you left,
Yet I remained displaying my devotion,
    Regardless of the ongoing commotion,
That was occurring all around me.
    As I withered away,
    Melting into countless memories,
I didnt realize that I had been loosing myself.
    So now here I am,
    All burnt out.
All that remains is the wick of my soul.

    The older you get
    The more quiet you become
Life humbles you deeply as you age
    You realize
    How much nonsense
    You've wasted your time on

I am horrible at deciphering poems but this was amazing!! I felt every ounce of emotion that came from each line he so strongly spoke.

honestly, I am terrible at channeling a powerful enough, emotional, raw voice when reciting poetry..so I am always trying new things and new ways to speak something, in order to give it life-and I’ve found that if I let myself truly feel the emotions that originally wrote the poem in the first place, the words take over and speak so intensely for themselves, and I am taken back to a time and place in which I felt the things that the poem is about, and it all becomes so vulnerable and so raw, so real and so intense. I let the deep emotions come flooding back to take over.
then again, on the other hand.. if it’s a poem that isn’t based off of any type of deep personal emotion, (per say it’s a general, plain, or maybe even a silly poem) then listening to other poets performing their pieces via UA-cam (or wherever you listen) in the same styles that you’re trying to execute in your tone can really really really help. watch their body language, their mouth movements, and listen to which parts they accentuate-and when they do, observe as much as you can and then mimic what you notice into your piece, and see if that helps. also, if it’s a situation where you’re recording a piece, then I would definitely (if you haven’t already) go to a place where you are 100% secluded and alone, where you can be as loud and as emotional as you want and need to be. this (obviously) helps yourself feel more comfortable in a way that gives you a sense of natural confidence because you aren’t in a place in which you feel you need to sound perfect or perform your piece a specific way so that it is heard correctly and ‘perfectly’ by the listener. and after you do these things enough, before you know it, you’ll be a pro!!
also.. if you find any other things that work for you, please reach back out and lmk in this thread what they are- I’d love any suggestions I can get!! best of luck marc,
never be too hard on yourself and your work. it’s not meant to be perfect. it’s meant to be 100% authentically you. when you make it all the way authentic and real, it gives a certain soul of it’s own to the poetry that makes it seem to speak life into everything that it touches. !!💓

@@ashleygraham3458 I do write those personal kind of things but I'm not a show-er of emotion...so to speak. I'm kinda introvert and dream of being a recluse hahaha. I just want want a cabin in the woods with my wife & dogs.
I started my channel to build confidence so I'm hoping in time things begin to feel more natural.

@@isabellecallister6790 thanks for reply and best wishes. I appreciate it. My channel is kinda...a confidence project, so I'm hoping that I develop in time. It's just that I'm not much of a talker (I'm not sure if my Yorkshire accent makes me sound a little boring too though hahahaha)
Thank you for the tips as well. Finding that solitude will help a little but even alone I judge myself a little to harshly...at 35 I thought I would have grown out of public "shyness" & confidence but....I'm working on in it
      Thank you again..
