Wow!!! You see how much the kids especially Bryce has grown in a year 😯 time flies by....I love chili! I wanna make a pizza chili I found....everything looks good! ❤❤❤
I have a really easy recipe for Salisbury Steak that I think your family would like. This is the recipe and I will explain as we go. 2 lbs. Lean ground beef 1 cup bread crumbs 3 cans of cream of mushroom soup 1 can of French onion soup 1 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp seasoned salt 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder Mix the meat, bread crumbs, seasoned salt ,pepper, garlic and onion powder to a bowl. Now add at least 1/2 of the can of the cream of mushroom soup and start mixing. Sometimes that is enough but alot of times I need more soup. So add up to a whole can of soup to the meat. Just enough soup to moisten it enough to make the patties. This will make 8 to 10 good sized patties. Brown them in a skillet and pour off the excess grease. In a bowl mix the French onion soup, the 2 cans of cream of mushroom and whatever is left, if any from the can you used in the patties and mix that together and pour over the Salisbury steaks. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes. You can add 1/2 lb of sliced mushrooms if your family likes mushrooms or you can omit them. We love them and I always buy cremini or baby portabella mushrooms. They are about 10 cents more a package at Walmart but have tons more flavor than just plain white mushrooms. If the plain white ones are on sale for $.99 a package I occasionally will buy them but then I add Worchestershire sauce to them to give them more flavor. This recipe calls for very little salt because you are getting the salt from the soups. This is one of our favorites. The combo of the french onion soup and the cream of mushroom makes the most delicious gravy. I use 1 can French onion and 2 cans of cream of mushroom to add to beef stew and pot roast too. That combo is delicious in all 3 meals. That additional partial can that I add to the Salisbury steaks gives them great flavor, plus is the perfect amount of moisture without adding eggs. I serve this with mashed potatoes, white rice or buttered noodles so that you can have something to eat the delicious gravy on. I can have this meal on the table by adding just some green beans, broccoli or sliced carrots in less than 30 minutes.
This sounds really good. I'm going to try it. I just need to cut the recipe in half. But the soup doesn't make the patties to soft to form right. Thanks for sharing
Hi Kim! I so loved this weeks what’s for dinner 😂. Loved hubby’s comment “I’m going to What a Burger”! So funny. I have had lots of fails in the kitchen. As you say the base sounds good. Am going to try the chicken fajita dish. I love hot food but hubby doesn’t. Would love to try the chilli recipe. Great video as always. Hope you’re all well. 🌈
Wowzers that's a TON of seasoning! I agree w u she had to of meant tap stinks that it made ur family's dinner so salty but oh well I'm sure lessons learned
It was terrifying from my parents when I 1st started learning to cut veggies. She will get the hang of it. It's nice to see that some be her age is intrested in cooking. As far as a dinner cause we all have fails and we learn from our mistakes.
I agree with letting her try! Just gives me the willies! My son as an adult used a sharp knife to cut frozen burgers apart and ended up with stitches! I think Courtney is much smarter than him!
@@KimsFarmhouseLife He’s fine, his wife took him to the emergency room for stitches and he healed up fine! My husband and I were like why a sharp knife! Smart kid with no common sense! He was like want to see my stitches and I was like nope!
Heyyy! Kim!!! Here watching! YOu know I LOVE THE REALLLLL!! Thats the only way I go! xo All of these meals look amazing and I want them all right now! I am starving! mouth drooling like come cook for me right now please!! I love over cooked burgers! And girl I feel ya during your moments of your phone and camera dying! Been there plenty! Why do we not check our battery before filming?? Mama brain! lolYour kids are so sweet and beautiful! Love hanging out with you friend! xo
3 tbsp of seasoning salt o my goodness I bet that tasted like licking a salt block. She had to have meant 1 tsp or she just likes a lot of salt who are we to judge 😂. Your daughter did a great job cutting up those veggies! I like how you added the two old recipes into the video that was really neat.
Dang, I know to fix a soup that is too salty you put some raw potato chunks in it and pull them out when you're done. I don't know what to do for the meat except to add more meat if you can.
Hi. I’m actually commenting before the video is over. Lol. Do you think that maybe the hamburger steak recipe was for more meat? Maybe those measurements were for like three pounds of meat, although that still seems like it would be salty. You always do such a great job. We all have a fail every now and then. I love your channel 🤗
I went back girl and checked the recipe and it was for 2 lbs of meat and it said tbsp. I dont know if their was a typo maybe. Thanks so much LaVerne for always commenting. You are so sweet ❤
Oh no! That's horrible that everyone making this recipe is ruining their meal...hopefully someone can find a way to notify the person that posted that recipe
Hi Kim and Courtney. You did an awesome job on the salad, Courtney. They've gotta learn sometime, mama, even though it's scary to put a sharp knife in their hands. This was not as scary as the night she tried to make bacon and melted the plastic that was too close to the pan. Yes, I still remember that. Girl, when you were at the table and gave the disclaimer before getting their reactions, my head went back and I just roared when you asked Bryce how was the meal, and his only reaction at first was "salty." I'm still laughing about that while I'm typing. But when you got to hubby's reaction and all we saw was two fingers shaking as if to say "no" and then a thumb's down, I laughed all over again. But I still wouldn't consider your cooking a fail because you went by the recipe. I just love your family. This was a great video. You all take good care and stay well.
Hey Cindy 😊😊😊 those hamburger steaks were so salty. We all ended up eating atleast one because we was hungry lol but the rest are still sitting in a ziplock bad in the fridge 🤣🤣🤣 thanks so much for always watching and for always commenting such sweet things ❤❤❤
Is your husband Puerto Rican? Curious only because I didn’t know about that Goya product until I married into my Puerto Rican family. 😊 they use it for so many of their dishes
I've heard that ur not supposed to cut lettuce w a normal knife they say it's better to tear ur lettuce bc normal knifes cause ur lettuce to turn brown quickly maybe that's y that knife made for cutting lettuce is plastic...neat
It a shame the burgers burned. My sister has the same copper skillet. There must be a problem with it not heating evenly or controlling the temperature. Are there times you delete comments? I've noticed, in previous videos, there were some that were no longer there. Your daughter will get better with time and patience. Unfortunately, we've all had our share of cuts and burns. 🍁🍂🔪

Definitely a lesson learned lol trust your gut lol

Thanks for the encouragement. It is so hard to let them kiddos grow up and try lol
I love the fact you show the mistakes and everything is not perfect, that’s real life.
Thank you for watching. Yep I make mistakes so I try to keep it real.
I so agree with Rizpah Baker.
Courtney was making me nervous with the knife, too! I’m much older and have accidents!
I was nervous too but I guess o have to let her try 😊
I’m old and have no knife skills. I’m always cutting myself. Remember to use the “claw” method when cutting !
I agree with letting her try! Just gives me the willies! My son as an adult used a sharp knife to cut frozen burgers apart and ended up with stitches! I think Courtney is much smarter than him!

Hi Kim ! I also over season things at times 😩 . Anyways hope your all doing great ! 💖💖💖💖
Thanks for watching. We are doing good. Hope you are too 😊❤😊
Hi, I am a new subscriber. I am looking for some new ideas for Thanksgiving and Christmas lunch or dinners. What do you make for your family?
I think Courtney did an excellent job . 👍
Thanks Nancy
You look fine without make up !
And bet that hamburger steak would be delish without that much salt 😊
Thank you Susan😊❤
Dang, I know to fix a soup that is too salty you put some raw potato chunks in it and pull them out when you're done. I don't know what to do for the meat except to add more meat if you can.
Right I don't know either?
I was going to suggest plastic knives. I've seen others use them to cut up vegetables. :)
Right but at her age she would ply feel some type of way if her mom handed her a plastic knife lol
She is 12 and has been wanting to cut stuff for a while lol but I've been so paranoid.
@@nicholew664 I was talking about the kind she was using to cut the lettuce. I've seen several that are serrated or flat and different sizes. :)
@@KimsFarmhouseLife I understand. Magnolia is 11 and I've been teaching her to use a knife, but it stresses me out! lol
U don’t need makeup I think u look just fine without always nice to see the real behind the camera
Awe thank you so much ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Hey new friend here. I am going to be trying these dinners. They looks so good. Got me hungry. Hopefully we can stay connected and support each other
Impressive chopping. I can't get mine that small.
Thank you

My daughter loves cutting too! She's 13 but Im still paranoid. I've sliced my finger good many times, so it's a valid feeling lol.
Oh yea it is scarey letting go and letting her try lol
I made the same hamburger steaks a couple weeks ago. My husband said it might have better licking a salt wheel. 😂
Oh no! That's horrible that everyone making this recipe is ruining their meal...hopefully someone can find a way to notify the person that posted that recipe
I was s offi excited for it 😢😢😢 and was so disappointed. I wish I would've went with my gut and use less seasoning 😢
