I watched this video because I had a friend with the exact same problem but it was the RF door and they have a 2022 model but all the same. This video was spot on and the only thing I’d like to add is the special clip on the back of the door handle DO NOT break it. Ford charged me $28 for that darn clip. Great video!!!
I just received a letter from Ford (June '24) about my '22 Escape. CSP # 23B56. Same problem. Letter says the free program will be in effect until 5/31/27, regardless of mileage. I don't know about other model years.
Great video, I'm having the same issue with my 2020 Escape. I do have a question though, if I do this repair and a recall does come around, will they not honor the recall because I've done a "modification" on the vehicle?
Can i just remove it and it not cause any problems? I dont have the time or money for this but i need a fix because it wont let my window down, and now it wont let it up.
This could be a little late however they just sent a letter for my 22 saying they would inspect, use a kit, or replace the door for free. Through 2027 regardless of mileage.
Yeah except there have been no other fix's or repairs outside of Rona era products. Ford is by far the best American manufacturer. At least they can be fixed or repaired unlike GM and stellantis products XD

You had me riveted to this video! Rivets is a less invasive way than bolts( which I was about to do). Thanks

1/4 inch grade 8 bolts with lock nuts , will work fine if you dont have rivets .

The product he recommends are Cleco Fastener, which I misheard as Cleat Goat and got transcribed by UA-cam as CLE oats and Cleo.
