Dude...thanks. You just saved me some cash. I thought I was going to have to bring it in to the dealership as our place has lots of hills and we have to be careful how and where we park so it does roll away bc the parking brake was doing nothing. I bought the service manual to try and figure it out and it only shows removing or installingthe parking brake including removing the floorboards etc. I knew there had to be a simple fix and you nailed it. Thanks again.
Love the Kawasaki Mule Pro-FXT but the handbrake problem should be addressed. I've taken the Mule in for service and the technician told me that we were pulling the handbrake back to far and it was stretching the cable and if continued they would have to replace the cable at our cost.We live on a lake and there a steep hill behind our house I've got wheel blocks I use, but this handbrake won't hold on a flat surface.
I don’t have issues when I stop on a hill, however I do understand that the cables stretch. There is an adjustment for the cable itself under the dash where the lever attaches to the cable. While the dealer saying you are stretching the cable is likely true, they only stretch to point, like bicycle brake cables. An adjustment is all that should be needed. The new cable will stretch as well after use.

Glad I could help. I don't like using the dealer for repairs I'm sure are simple. Sometimes digging around you find stuff like this. Happy motoring!
Thank you. I did not know how and feared having to take it in to the Kawasaki dealer. You probably saved me $100 and the time to trailer it. You rock!
Thank you! Worked perfectly and saved us a trip to the dealer!!
Thanks dude, was getting tired of chasing it
Thanks for taking the time to share this bud! Happy Muling lol
Thanks for the video! Just what I needed to adjust the parking brake.
the BEST UA-cam tutorial. I as able to adjust my Parking brake in about 2 minutes. thanks.
Perfect fix. I had exactly the same problem you mention in the video. Thanks for getting right to the point and not pontificating...
The nut is actually a jam nut. I loosened it slightly, made the adjustment, then tightened it.
Excellent, it helped me, adjust the parking brake
Thank you sir, worked like a charm.
Sweet & thanks for the video. I hope this is a close/similar application for my 2010 Kawasaki Teryx.
