Super cool! I have one of these boats and never considered putting a sail kit on it. I've only been on a sailboat once (50' hunter) and was so scared - no one told me they tilted so much!! But, after seeing ur vid, might just be tempted to take lessons and get this kit! Looks so fun!! Well-done video :)
The sail rig has leeboards, which are twin keels on the sides. Without them, the boat would not sail. With them it sails well as you can see in the video.

In theory perhaps, but in fact the boat is extremely easy to turn and raising a leeboard doesn't make a measureable difference in speed, so we leave them both down.
Can you tie your shoes quickly? With a little practice, it gets to be like tieing your shoes.
Does the lack of a keel/ draft effect the movement of the boat? (as in does the wind push it around in the direction the wind is blowing more so than a normal sailboat?) I own the seahawk II without the sail, and the wind pushes it around relentlessly.
how do you atatch the line that pulls the sail up so quickly to the mast step ??
is the boat good for fishing and fun on the lake?

Probably about 4 knots. It is a blast.
@andrewstrassburg No. It wouldn't be hard to do yourself. But i don't find it necessary, because the inflatable floor is very firm, not soft like a Sevylor Caravelle or the other Seahawks.

i put a motor kit on it and added a 1.5HP engine
Use it for fishing with 1 other person, the two of us fly around the lake
on it, very durable.
For ANY USE these are good boats, although it says fits 3, if u want 3 ppl
when fishing "not just for water travel" get a seahawk 3 or 4.

How much weight could this boat carry? I am 225lbs, wife is 120lbs, camping gear 80lbs. Would this be enough boat for all that weight?

Just wondering what would happen if you capsize. The whole sail kit would fall off and sink to the bottom. At least the mast/sail would.
+ks ben Nothing would fall off. The halyard is tied, of course, to hold the sail up and would hold the mast and sail in place even if the boat were upside down. See: tinyurl.com/capsizerecovery
I bought the motor mount for the Sevylor K106 gt from sailboatstogo excellent deal
and prompt delivery all the way to egypt. now im considering a sailing kit, I purchased two more boats the Sevylor Caravelle K-76 French line limited , and the Caravelle K86 GT would like to purchase a kit that will adpot them all in addition to my zodiac Mark II CGT any suggestions ?

What is the length of the mast and dimension of the sail? Thanks in advance ☺
+cris pabillore Standard mast is 87 inches and the heavy duty mast (in this video) is 96 inches. Sail is 109 inches on the foot and 137 inches on the luff.
Are the sails in the video the 45 sq ft sails or the 55 sq ft sails?
