- Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan who wins the award for MVP - Best goalkeeper of Serie A 2021/22. The rankings have been drawn up taking into account the advanced analysis of Stats Perform, formed from the tracking data recorded with the Hawk-Eye system.
These are the characteristics that led to the success of the Rossoneri goalkeeper:
- He holds the record for clean sheets in this Serie A (16) and, since the beginning of 2022, no goalkeeper in the Top 5 European leagues has collected more clean sheets than Maignan (11);
- Among the goalkeepers with more than 10 appearances, he is the one with the highest save rate (78.8%);
- Has the highest win rate (21 out of 31 appearances) in the league (67.7%);
- From 2004/05 to today (since Serie A returned to 20 teams), only Christian Abbiati (18 in 2010/11) has collected more clean sheets than Maignan (16) among Milan goalkeepers in a Serie A league season;
- Also present in the playing phase, Maignan travels an average of 6 km per game.
