John tucker really kinda got away with everything lol and then in the end after he got his heartbroken he just started to be honest with his girlfriends that he is seeing more than one girl pretty progressive for the time of you think about it like implying he’s gonna be in a polygamous relationship honestly I dint know nothing about basketball but you guys insight was making me laugh cause I assume it was unrealistic great reaction as usual
Soundtracks in the early 2000s were all just SO DAMN GOOD. This was definitely one of my go to movies back in the day, I have the biggest admiration for and crush on Sophia Bush still TO THIS DAY.

You should really check out The Other Woman, with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. It's basically this movie with older women, with a MUCH more satisfying ending.
Loved the reaction and your varied movie selection. A great romantic comedy to check out is Crazy Stupid Love. It is genuinely hilarious and also deeply emotional at points too. One of my favorites.

Part of the movie is that John never suffered actual consequences because he is white rich and attractive. So supporting him at the beginning where he is playing with all those girls to sleep with him (which fucks with their consent too) IS kinda weird💀
This came out when I was going on 14 so it was played constantly at friend's houses. Although we know Kate was manipulated by the other girls, I agree that she wasn't being fair to either John or Scott. At least everyone learned to be better by the end lol. The ridiculous basketball shots kill me everytime.
I think once it's clear that John has a genuine interest in Kate, it's pretty obvious that he's changing for the better, having experienced deeper feelings of love, and so it's easy to start feeling bad for him at that point. But after he has his heart broken for real, he retreats back to his tradition of playing multiple girls, except with more honesty (he might be afraid of getting his heart broken again). There aren't many intimate scenes of Kate and Scott though besides them messing around and having fun as lab partners, whereas we do get that scene where John gives Kate his expensive watch and announces in public that he's whipped, to name one, so I understand if you walk away from the movie wanting John and Kate to date more seriously. She and his brother seem to be starting to date, which would mean she might run into John from time to time realistically. So I think there's some ambiguity there. Is it possible their paths cross again down the road? I'd think so. Tbh, I kind of feel like the movie is hinting that they might. He gives her his watch, which could be symbolism for time, and maybe that's all they need.
By the way, when he got emotional during the basketball game, that was because of the estrogen they put in his protein powder. No movie commentator connects those 2 plot points.
To be honest, Kate does turn to be kind of mean and fake but she's like that because the other girls made her that way. Obviously she can make her own decisions but at the same time this was the first time she really had friends and when she told them she didn't want to date and dump JT they got all disappointed and went to leave her alone without friends again so she agreed. It's kind of like Mean Girls with Janice and Cady! Kate definitely needed to own up to her actions and apologize but I don't think she didn't deserve Scott because she realized what she did wrong and also was sort of a victim in this situation.
