Ahhhh! I see, that makes so much sense now. That was a good one
For Herb/herb, I think it's a dialect thing. In some dialects, you would pronounce the name with the leading H but the food without (i.e., "erb"). That doesn't work in a lot of places, though, where it's pronounced with an H either way.
and Job as a name is pronounced with a long o I believe, like J-oh-b

For the lightbulb problem…
No one seems to be asking whether the lightbulbs are sure to be off to begin with (or even if the switches had been used right before the experiment)… the door is closed so you can’t check… I mean they kinda have to be off for this Puzzle to have a solution, but it could be a trick question… there’s some vital information missing there… not on your part though Dido! You almost had it 🥰
For the herb and polish one, I thought it was the number of letters for each word is a factor of 12. I know Dido likes a math problem
