    Army to begin testing New Jungle Uniform, January 2018 (Hot Weather Combat Uniform) by issuing the lighter, more breathable uniform to thousands of soldiers in Hawaii. The new uniform, made by Source America, is a 57% Nylon/43% Cotton blend to make it "faster-drying", provide "greater airflow", and add more strength which allows us for a lighter blend or thinner weave, over the 50-50 Nylon/ Cotton blend on the current ACU.
    The shirt has no breast pockets since soldiers in the field are typically wearing gear that covers them, and all they end up doing is retaining moisture and heat. The back pockets in the trousers are gone as well for the same reason. Uniform officials have added an ID card pocket inside the waistband.
    The Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform blouse also features a button-down front instead of a zipper closure. Uniform officials also replaced the side zipper closure on the shoulder sleeve pockets with a button-down flap at the top of the pocket. The new uniform features reinforced elbows and reinforced and articulated knees and a gusseted crotch.
    The plan is to issue about 20,000 sets of the new uniforms to the 2nd and 3rd BCTs in Hawaii in January and then another 10,000 to 12,000 sets in March, describing the $14 million effort.
    This uniform is about a pound lighter than the Army Combat Uniform; it's very comfortable and not only does it make fighting and operating in a tropical hot wet environment easier, it's also going to potentially mitigate heat injuries because it holds less heat and less moisture.

    Same pant, two different shades of genuine multicam?

    Dillon Baldwin, they can't reply to you, because you turned off your reply button.
    I don't know why would that be disrespectful though. If you don't lie about a military background, then it's ok. Also, it's not a uniform without name tags, ranks, etc. I bought some camo pants at a Macy's butique. At Walmart, you can buy BDU-s.
    I never served, but I did read about this topic on a military forum, most of the soldiers/veterans don't care.
    Don't buy like Marine parade uniforms though, if you go public wearing that, that situation can go bad superfast. haha

      thatmaninblack so I can wear an acu coat (without patches or whatever)?

    • @thatmaninblack
      @thatmaninblack  7 років тому +1

      ElectroGamer2003 Of course, you can wear camo. You can put zombie patches on it or something like that. Just do NOT wear it with military/veteran patches. :)

      thatmaninblack yeah, because during trick or treating, bunch of people stared at me and I was nervous

      ElectroGamer2003 : Maybe because of the stolen valor videos? There was even a story, a real veteran got seriously beaten up by air force members, because they accused him of lying about his military status. Those videos are crazy. Some people are insane about camo clothes. I have an NRA camo cap, my former neighbor asked me "are you in the military", and I was like "wtf, no, why would you even ask me that", and he said "you look like it". Yeah, I guess the military has a standard NRA baseball cap. :D The better situation was, when I was wearing my camo cargo pants and like a random kid called me a "redneck". On the other hand, another kid said "man, you look like John Cena". :D haha But at least I got a few good stories. One thing is sure, I started to wear camo since I was 7, so it's not like I'm going to change that for anyone. :-)
      Maybe get a "civilian" patch. That would solve the confusion issue. If anyone asks you about it, just point at the "civilian" patch and it's all.

      thatmaninblack yeah, I mean there's this veteran, the manager took his food away in Veterans Day because they thought he was faking. Man, I really need to put a sign behind my back that said "I'm not a soldier" lol. It was meant to be a joke

      The really cheap Propper trousers can lose the color after a while, or might need some work with the lose buttons. The slightly more expensive ones ($40-50) are perfect though. :)

    Hi, I have question regarding those trousers! I am using 50%/50% and I like its shape and color after years washing and using but I have also seen darker one and it doesn't look good after several washing so I guess it is because of 65%/35%? does it changes color and shape and becomes very different from 50%/50%? please answer my question coz I am going to buy one and if 65%/35% stays same as 50%/50% I want to buy it ! thanks.

      Hello,
      I didn't see any problem with my pants. Do you buy the same brand? (Propper) My multicam ones didn't lose color, however the cheapest black ones (thin fabric) became gray after a while.

      @thatmaninblack  7 років тому +1

      I didn't test it with a lighter, but I would guess. These are high-quality pants. I have had them for 8 years, wear them all the time, yet they still look new. :)

    Hey, you're telling people the pants on the right are the 65/35, when in fact they are the 50/50 nir compliant ones. Look about 50 seconds into ur vid, when u lift up the front of the right ones theres no back tag, when u show the 65/35 there's a blue tag saying 65/35. Nyco are better imo, because they are nir compliant and because they start to match the are you are in by wearing them in the field, and they're more vibrant and match foliage where im from better(pnw). Thanks for the vid

      Thank you for the comment. :-) The colors are vary I guess, but the thick ones are the 65/35, and the thin ones are the 50/50. I did check it 1 min ago, just to make sure. :-)

    Which is 50/50? 35/65? Thanks. I like the darker pair.

    • @thatmaninblack
      @thatmaninblack  9 років тому

      In the video, the darker is the 35/65. And it's the thicker fabric.Better for cold days. :)
      The 50/50 is the lighter one, with thin fabric, that one is for warm weather.

    Okay, so I have a question for any one who has served or is currently serving in the military: I'm 17, and 6'3 and 200+ lbs, so a lot of people think I'm older than I actually am, and I was wondering, If I wear multicam bdu pants and a multicam hat, (most likely with an American flag on it) and most likely a black t-shirt or something, is it disrespectful? I really like how multicam looks, but I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to impersonate someone who is in the military.

      @tavosotto471 8 років тому

      as long as you dont claim to be military, or wear patches, you have just as much right as anyone to wear a certain camo pattern.

    • @dukedillon4587
