We may have lost lower segment variants on ford like fiesta , focus and Chevrolet and some other cars but we have gained cars like chary, haval .. Beijing and they seem to bring more futuristic cars to SA ..
Hi Mpho, I can’t wait to hear your driving impressions once you’ve driven it. I’m not sure if I should add it on my short list to replace my Rio yet. Fuel wise if it’s frugal, I might consider it but won’t count on it as since it’s Chinese. In this segment the Peugeot 2008, Taigo and Mokka, have my heart. But no doubt this is streets ahead interior quality wise. Let’s see…looking forward to your POV
I think the Chinese are proving themselves with each passing minute. Most cars are still intact from Haval. Some coming from 2017, that's 6 years and they have no issues. The scary thing in that there is just too much tech. I am currently testing the Mahindra XUV700 and it's also packed with tech and costs only R560K. Fuel consumption on these cars is quite high for the engine size. Mokka and 2008 are not necessarily different even under the skin so I understand why you looked at both. Honestly though, I'd pick the 2008🤔. I hope to get a POV soon🙂🙏🏽
Yeah Mpho, Chinese cars have come a long way indeed. I want to test drive this one and see I might need to consider it together with the new Renault Captur but I agree with you on the 2008. I also read there might be an update of the 2008 later this year, so I won’t rush it. Great job once again man
I keep exploring other options within the similar budget, even ones a bit more pricey. Nothing seems to compare with the Chery... Some come close, but this really is a beautiful car.
