I have never seen or heard of this beautiful gem in the desert! The hotel is truly unique and beautiful. Then add in an opera house and you have a must stop & see spot. Can you share a bit about the proprietor? It looks like there are far more than the 13 rooms currently available. So maybe more in the future? The "lobby" was huge! Were you able to see inside the Opera House and do they still hold any events? Thank you so much for sharing. I am in California so going to plan a visit.
the hotel was flooded in last two years therefore only 13 rooms are available for now. this is a rough spot if you like history of a desert. yes, there is morning and afternoon tour of the opera.
@@algebra737 I read some more about the place and it did say that it can flood. The woman who took over the place in 1967 and painted all the murals, held dance recitals and other concerts, was an interesting woman. I am so used to seeing a typical old motel in the desert so this place along with an opera house is definitely unusual.
