Absolute life saver. Can’t believe how simple this was. I almost pulled the trigger on a new tv for the kids play room but your instructions were a last resort and it worked as advertised. Thanks mate 👍🏼
Exactly what I had to do too fix our TV. Just saved us a lot of money! Thank you!!
I ordered a repair kit and found this video while waiting for it to come in. Couldn't see any obvious problems on the PCB, and didn't see the problem joints till I watched this video and inspected the solder joints with a magnifying glass. It's not that obvious, but redoing those 2 joints fixed the TV and saved me lots of money. Many thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, this was exactly my issue 👍. In a dark room, I was even able to see little sparks coming out of this spot, while The TV was turning on and off again. Now my TV survives a little longer 🤗
RalphSummer69 cool. Im happy the video helped.
Thanks a lot! That was precisely the problem. Exchanged some capacitors for less than a dollar and 1 hour of work. 👍
Thanks for posting the video. I have a Samsung UN65JU6500 that wasn't clicking but initially showed symptoms of shutting down after about 30 minutes powered on and stay off for 10 to 15 minutes before restarting by itself and being good for the night. Recently it began doing this repeatedly every 30 minutes or so to the point it was almost unwatchable. Sometimes when I moved the TV on the wall mount it would cycle power. I found your video and went straight to work. Inspected capacitors and didn't see anything, removed the power board , flipped it over and found cracked solder joints at the transformer to board connections. Removed old solder and replaced with fresh solder. So far so good. Thanks again.
Happy it worked well
Have never left a comment on UA-cam - but after fixing my TV last night I felt compelled to thank you for saving me a $1000 on a new TV. Fix worked like a champ!
Matthew Langner appreciate that. Thanks man! I was thrilled to get mine working. Its been flawless ever since the fix!
Thank you good sir! I saved myself over $300 by doing this. All the solder joints to the heatsinks and transformer on my 2012 Samsung were bad and a simple reflow solved everything
Thanks a mil bro,you saved me on getting another tv,i salute you my guy
Happy i could help!
Thanks man, I'm just having this problem recently and you nailed the solution.
Cool I’m happy it worked!
100% perfect video........took power board out of TV & sure enough, it was like my power board was uses as a stunt board in this video........had crown shaped cracks around 2 joints. I re-soldered all joints on transformer to be on the safe side. Half an hour job which included removing TV off wall bracket.
Happy sad moment as I was eyeing a new 65 Inch TV with a soundbar.....alas, it will have to wait. Thanks heaps!!!!
I tightened and checked all connections ,,,FIXED LIKE NEW....THANKS ALOT...KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK BROTHER
Awesome you got it working!
I have the same tv same problem and thank to your honesty a little solder fixed my tv and saved me a lot of money... great video Thanks
Brooooo! Thank you so much!! I somehow missed the cracked soldering joints on my transformer. Cheers mate!
Thanks so much for this tip, fixed my samsung with ease. My 12 year old tv will go on for many more years.
Thank you!!!! What an easy fix. My TV started randomly turning off but would come back on. The frequecy of this increased and then just started clicking and wouldn't turn on. Found your video and was back watching in a couple hours. I'm a couple days in and the TV is going strong! For this many people to have the EXACT same problem, Samsung should be aware of this. I hope they've seen all of these comments! Your video was perfect! The only thing I would add is to show how to ground the board. I saw the clip on the circuit board but not the other end to see how you actually ground it.
Great that you’re actually found the video. A lot of people have not been able to find it. Please don’t forget to subscribe and like. Also for the grounding, it’s not absolutely necessary. It’s better in the dry winter months when there is static. It can pretty much be grounded to any object that is large enough such as a metal fridge or water pipe. But that’s about it.
Thanks a lot mate. Helped me identify my issue is something to do with the power relay.
Exactly what the doctor ordered. Saved my 10 year old plasma. For now. Looks like I'm putting off getting that OLED again...
CHEERS!!!!!! I found one of a huge Samsung down at the corner. Carted it home. Got cables out of the attic. Used the cable remote to turn the Johnny on. It was GREAT for 6 minutes. It the cut off. I'll unplug it and this weekend check inside. If the fix is this easy, Sunday I'll have a, "New," Smart TV.
Same problem with my Samsung 55’ D7000 TV. This actually worked! Thank you for posting, saved me from buying a new TV. 🙌
Same here,....kind of a happy sad moment as a new TV would be sweet. :)
U the man!
This repair fixed my Samsung that I haven't been able to watch in 6 months.
Was getting ready to toss out and buy another set.
Thanks to u I won't have too.
Thanks so much for posting
You are most welcome!!
Worked like a charm! Just wanted to say thank you!
lbrammer78 awesome!
FIXED! Thank you so much!
Excellent repair job...very hard to spot that fractured solder joint.
I had exactly the same problem and the fix was exactly the same as in your video. With this fix you saved me at least $1,000 from buying a new TV. Thanks so much brother!!! The best UA-cam fix I've had so far.
I am so happy it worked
Killer vid! I had the exact same issue, no caps bulging but a crack around those same 2 transformer pins, hit it with the iron and solder and the tv works! I wouldnt turn on at all before, thanks for this awesome info and what to look for exactly. Thumbs up, Subscribed! Keep these vids coming!
I’m happy the vid helped. The issue is the new lead free solder.
This was the only solution that helped me with my TV not coming on. After I resoldered the joins it's been working like a dream for the last 6 months! What a find! Thank you for the assist!
Your welcome. Happy the video helped you find a fix!!!
Fixed mine!! You rock man. Incredible
Thx I’m happy it worked out!
THANK YOU! I found the exact same problem.
This was exactly what was wrong with my Samsung TV. Did this fix and it is working great now. Thank you.
Happy it worked!!!
Astounding, you saved my day and my wallet :) Best fix i ever found on UA-cam. Simple and efficient.
Nice work. My plasma is doing the same thing. Clicking and not turning on so I’ll check for the same thing.
Thanks mate u fixed my problem!! Really cool
Me Too!! Thank You so much SciTubeHD! My wife thinks I'm the genius! You are the genius...Thanks Again
Thanks for this video!!! Just fixed mine as well. The clicking on and off for the last 8 months almost drove me crazy!!!
Thank you. Most welcome!
Excellent video and thanks a million for your amazing work, it's been a while since I last fixed one of these sets and I watched your videos and I found them very useful, helpful and a great technician to work on them so thanks again for everything 😀👍
Thank you I appreciate that!
Thank you for saving our tv and great instructions and easy to understand 😁
Your welcome anytime!
Thank you very much , for sharing video and I just fix my TV just now .
Ur welcome !
Geez I have the same issue on my 75 inch Samsung , it does it after it warms up , very Annoying!! Thanks for the video i will check the board out ..
You nailed it! thankyou mine is fixed now, see if I get another 8 years or of it!
Thank you so much!!! I had never used a solder iron before but after watching your video and looking at the connectors mine were cracked just like yours. I bought a solder iron and fixed it in about 5 minutes.
That’s awesome. It’s a really easy fix and can save a lot of money on a replacement TV. My repaired one is still working great to this day several years after the solder job.
Thank you so much this was a perfect fix!
I’m happy this was helpful to you.
Omg I have this exact same tv with the exact same problem. I just order a soldering kit and I’m gonna try to fix it.
Thank you for putting this up ! Fixed my TV in 30min
That’s awesome!
Very good information thank you
Your welcome. Thanks for the feedback.
Brilliant fix - worked first time!
That’s fantastic. Such an easy fix wanted to get it out there. These TVs are fine except for the cracked solder joints!!
100% had exact same problem. Two resoldered joints and the TV is back working normally. Thanks very much for this.
You’re welcome. I’m glad the video helped
Hey I found this tv 55inch in a dumpster I took it home UA-cam it found this video and did the same thing and it works thanks a lot
Supremegee thats awesome that this video helped to get it working
Totally Not Mitzi I just lay it down on the living room floor disconnect everything should be fine
I would have gone a step further, by removing the old lead free solder and replacing with leaded solder. Great video though. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. Exactly the problem with mine!! Fixed.
Awesome it worked for you!!!
Many thanks worked perfectly
Im happy the video helped!
Thank you alot sir I like this video very educational keep up the good work 👍
Thanks- appreciate it!
Hi, I have to say thank you very much, I am writing from Italy, it is not my habit to write but this time I have to say that it is one of the best information I have taken from the internet. All my appreciation for your professionalism. it would tell me: you are right after God.
Thank you very much this fixed my grandma's TV she's super happy
U ARE THE MAN!! IT has been 2 days of clicking sometimes it almost turns on But then NOTHING just more clicking. I will do this and let you know what happens. THANK YOU KIND SIR.
Did it work ?
Seriously thank you for this video! Just did this on a tv that a customer of mine threw out and is now working. Free 55 for me baby! Cheers!
Welcome anytime!!!
Thanks for the video,it has really helped.
You are most welcome. Please don’t forget to sub!! Thx
Thanks a bunch. You saved me $$$.
Thank you
Do you have your camera on the end of a yoyo?
You are smart guy
Awesome worked for me today.
Thank you! This fixed my 3D Samsung TV. Same issue, same spot. They wanted $200 for a Samsung technician to just come out and look at it.
I’m really happy that the video I posted helped you to fix the TV. I know this video has solved many peoples TV problems and it makes me happy that it has worked for you as well.
Excellent fix
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing, it gave my 11 years old Samsung TV a second life.
The 65” 4K QLED need stay in the shop for now😢, but I’m sure they will be even better in a few years. 😊
That’s awesome man!
Amazing it worked in my case too...👍
The TV had been working fine until we moved it downstairs then it started this on/off situation. It must have twisted it just enough to crack the solder on the terminals. Put some solder on them and it works as new! Thank You so much!
Doug Hodgskiss I’m happy the video was helpful!!
Have same problem gonna try it and let you know
👏👏 Holy schnikies. I never would have guessed that. Guess I better pay more attention to first basics.
Well followed your instructions and now it is starting first pop, the soldering didnt look too bad but hey if you are going to pull things apart then slap some on and it seems to have worked. thanks
unfortunately the good luck didnt last long and now it is still clicking though it is in a different rhythm. may pull it apart again tidy up some soldering
well i think it is fixed there was a failure on the pcb board on that trace line so a little bit of wire soldered between may have fixed it. thanks for the video inspiration
I took a look at the back on my power board and had the exact same cracks in the exact same solder pads. I figured you had my solution but unfortunately even with fresh solder joints I still have clicking.
I can also hear a buzz in-between Clicks down near the heatsink closest to the AC input.
No bulging capacitors are apparent. I'll have to keep looking.
i have a cracked solder pad hope this will work greets good work
Thank you. Its a very useful lesson. Nice demo. May I, if you don't mind, ask you: What is the reason for those solder points to get cracked as in this case? Heating up?
The transformer leads get hot when the TV is running. The solder points for these transformers get the hottest. There is heating and cooling of the solder joints when the TV is turned off and on which causes mechanical stress from expansion and contraction of the solder. Because of government regulations, a lot of consumer electronics are using lead free solder which is very vulnerable to this thermal stress. Lead based solder handles this thermal stress much better. Eventually the joint cracks and the connection is broken.
@@BrianDhvTinkerer Thanks a million for the explanation. Knowing the why is the key to success!
the soldering points on my device weren't broken like yours, but they had a brown cover on the edge, so i resoldered, them - working since then
Could have also been internal solder cracks not visible on the outside surface
I am going to try this tomorrow, it has been doing this for a while now
Great video. What kind of solder did you use? Thank you!
I used leaded solder as it is easier to melt. Unleaded works well too!
@@BrianDhvTinkerer Thank you!
Having major issues with my Samsung un60d6000sf doing blank clicking. All the capacitors look to be fine. And all the solders look good. Any insight on what the problem might be??
I noticed that when I detached the tcon ribbon to the tcon board the lcd light will work but if i will connect it back there’s no lcd light
very satisfying.... now I will try my tv to see if thats the issue
Seems to work out really well. I hope that is the same problem with your power board.
Interesting. I have a similar issue. Ill follow the advice and see if it resolves the issue. I have a flashing red standby light and clicking relay. Bet it is a similar occurrence. Fingers crossed.
Hope that’s the issue bc it’s an easy fix
This worked amazingly well for me however I have another problem with the TV now in that it will not auto tune all channels?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Hey Samsung if ur reading this put a cooling agent in those TVs some how, It’s heat that’s making the boards crack.
Very cool
Did it and still keeps clicking. It is the part you said click but soldering did not fix the issue. Should I just get a new board?
The TV repairman that can even fix a TV. How about an Oscilliscope put on the out put of the Power Supply? I would love to see the different wave forms when capacitors are bad and when they are renewed with new capacitors. Effective Series Resistance? Capacitors in series passing either a low pass or a high pass capacitor inductor network or an LC network. A PWM controller chip that needs capacitors that are not blown sometimes.
a 7522 PWM controller chip sometimes has bad capacitors and will not work eventually.
Resoldering worked!
That’s awesome !
Mine was clicking, like a Start / Stop over and over again. I would see the LED lights flash (yes, tested good LEDs). I found it was the main board to be the problem and not the power supply.
Old video I know, I changed out the whole power supply and still no image. I still get the clicking sound. any suggestions?
hy!my tv have same problem but on my screen is a lot of poorly colored parallel lines and after turn on i hear one click and after 3 seconds its restarting .What can i do to solve my problem? Thanks
I had the exact same problem on my TV from the same series. Easy fix, just resolder the main transformer.
Yes, exactly - works like a charm. My wife wanted to throw out the television and she didn’t get her wish.
Same here caps looked fine gna try this soon will bbk to give results
Awesome!
thank you I fix it work great
I’m really happy it worked for you. It is amazing how simple this is to fix.
Hi. I have the same issue with my UA55D7000. I tried doing your suggestion and it hasn't worked. It was my first time using a soldering iron so it may not have been feed enough cos it hasn't worked. I'll try again but do you have any other suggestions?
I'll upload a video of what mine is doing and post a link here shortly.
Thanks

Here is what my tv is doing.
Exact problem this samsung had. 👍
So many people have this problem! Never buying Samsung again
Not sure about todays samsung but our 2/3 year old is going well this can happen to any TV tbh had more issues with our phillips . The led"s packed in in 3 years . Samsung are usually good imo
Im still running a pair of plasma tvs from 2008. Led tv gave up after 6 years.
Mine is having the same issue and same model too. where’s the wire connected to make it grounded? Thanks man
In fact you don’t need to ground it to do the fix. It should be fine to solder it without the precautionary grounding wire. That’s only to prevent against static discharge to the board components in cold dry weather
@@BrianDhvTinkerer great! Thank you so much!
Dad’s tv was going really bad with the clicking on and off. We opened up the tv and what do you frigin know. Those two soldering pads were cracked. One was VERY bad, and the other looked like the cracked one in your vid. Heading out to Home Depot to get a soldering 30 v soldering gun.
I am happy the video helped!
I thank you so much add me to the list this was the conclusion yes it worked for me thank you.
It’s great that it worked. Please don’t forget to subscribe for more videos!!
@@BrianDhvTinkerer I just did , thank 🙏 you a
My tv is exactly the same model as this. But when i open the board seems everything’s ok. I didn’t see any puff or burnt but still clicking and when I unplug the power cable it clicks couple of times. And the same problem not turning on
Try resoldering (by remelting the solder joints) for the main power transformer as showing in my video. They may not look bad but the solder joints develop microcracks
Seen 15 of them come for repair in a single day, with basically the same prob.
Wow - it’s a really cheap fix though😁
