- Watch the full episode 23 of H2O - just add water :) Rikki is amazed when she sees a locket in a jeweller's shop identical to Cleo's and Miss Chatham's. Miss Chatham reveals that the locket belonged to her friend Julia, the third original mermaid, and Rikki and the others begin searching for the money to buy it for her. But Zane makes a mistake when he lets slip to ex-girlfriend Miriam that Rikki was looking at the locket, and Miriam buys it just to spite her.

why is no one ever talking about how rude Miss Chatam is towards Rikki? she just assumes the worst of her all the time .. she acts like she knows everything about her. The only thing she knew was that Rikki’s a mermaid, like she was, and she has the audacity to insult her by comparing her to how “bad” Julia was.

This is my like 50th rewatch, but did anyone else notice that all 3 Lockets were at the bottom of the ocean at some point (Cleo's in Moonpool, Emma's in the Shipwreck, and Rikki's was Thrown) and that Emma was the one to go get all 3? The writing on this show is WAY overlooked, it is so good.

You know I always saw Rikki as a rebel girl done right. One of the things that bugs me about recent rebel girls like Jade West and Sam Puckett is that they make them rebellious and that's literally their only character trait. In fact the writers make them almost down right psychotic.
Rikki is a rebel who does her own thing and has her own way of thinking but she knows when not take things too far and that she can't always have her way whereas Jade and Sam will probably destroy property or hurt someone if they don't get their way. Also she doesn't bully or demean those who prefer not to be rebellious and follow the rules like Jade does to her "friends" Tori and Cat and Sam does to Freddie. You can tell that Rikki has feelings and that she can be vulnerable and it explains why she needs friends like Cleo and Emma. And she understands that sometimes you have to make sacrifices and compromise, put your friends and boyfriend first sometimes. It's not always about you.
With Jade and Sam they're almost always mean spirited and almost never show any emotion other than angry, crazy, or rebellious. And it's always about them. They pretty much manipulate their friends into doing or getting them what they want. I can't recall them ever compromising or even making a sacrifice for someone they cared for. And they verbally or physically abuse their love interests. It's like the writers didn't humanize any of their characters at all.
Love this. Am writing a novel and one of my characters is rebellious lile Rikki. But I didn't want the crazy, manipulative pyschi. I wanted them to understand other despite their meanish demaneor. Basically I wanted them to be humans that are their age. And not some super human who came out of the womb freshly rebellious

22:58 the most unrealistic thing about this whole show is that someone can unclasp a necklace that quickly and easily.
Actually the closure of the necklace is not that hard to unclasp. It’s not a regular kind of closure. At the 7th episode on 03:24 minute you can see how it looks like from behind. So it’s a pretty realistic scene

I like how emma gave cleo gracies locket miss chatham gave rikki Julia's locket it was really nice when miss chatham gave emma her locket 2 keep cuz she thought that the lockets should be with the new mermaids
For some reason, Rikki's prickly-ness and feisty-ness is what makes her my favorite. Not only does it make her a very interesting person, a person with flaws, but it also raises the emotional weight of certain situations because her outbursts make you realize how serious they really are. It also makes her a very strong person, she NEVER doesn't stand up for herself. And it makes her happy and soft moments 10x happier. Although sometimes it can be a little annoying because her anger causes her to act very irrationally, like blaming Zane for Miriam buying the locket just because he asked her if girls like jewelry. That wasn't his fault at all and she knows it, but her anger at just losing the locket made her lash out.

Through watching it a million times, I came to a conspiracy. They each got the lockets based off Miss Chatam's friends.
Cleo: A lot like Gracie. The only one with black/brunette hair. Same personality and is always in the middle of their fights.
Rikki: A lot like Julia. Keeps secrets(sometimes). Head strong. Has the same (fire) spark as her.
Emma: A lot like Miss Chatam. Always the one in fights with Rikki and they can never agree on most things.
You will understand more when they show the flashbacks in other episodes.
