Yep! I am in the process of preparing for an entry level project manager position. I graduated from Google's Project Management Certificate program in March. I am studying for the CAPM exam. This video was timely and helpful.
I literally just completed my Coursera certification today for project management. I am so happy to be done and excited at the doors this will open for me.
Hi Alvin, thanks for all the insights about the role so clear and my question is ..i did my SAFe6 certification recently and looking for either scrum master position or Project Coordinator role. Do you still recommend PM certification for a Project Coordinator role or scrum certification is good enough to go with?
Since I don't know your full background and situation, here's high-level advice I can give you - a PM Certification can help you stand out on your resume and negotiate higher salaries after you're given a job offer. However, just remember - having a Certification does NOT guarantee getting an interview. It is one of many factors that can help, but is not the ultimate 'remedy' to landing a job interview or final offer.
That's great to hear you passed your CAPM Exam, hope you gained value out of this video, where I actually reviewed an actual job posting for an entry level PM position!
Hi Alvin l am in midst of my studies for project management certifications in Prince 2 Foundation & Practioner, Prince 2 Agile and CAPM. would l still be able to apply for entry level roles as assistant project manager, junior project manager roles after finishing my study for my certifications. Would l still need to do google course as well.
Hi Mark, great to hear from you and hope you're doing well! You should still be able to apply for entry level project manager roles after you achieve your certifications. The Google Course is meant to help supplement your knowledge and give you a solid foundation, but you're likely going to get that knowledge while studying for Prince 2 and CAPM.
Both are great courses and both will teach you the fundamentals in Project Management. You can't go wrong with either one. For my deep dive into the Google PM Program, watch my video here: ua-cam.com/video/Og6EvLEdMQw/v-deo.htmlsi=Bucpbnj8VLwAky0V
It will depend on the level of experience you have and your background. If you already meet PMI's requirement of having three years of managing projects, then my recommendation is to go for your PMP. If you already have your PMP, then add on the Scrum Master Certification to bolster your credibility and build your career brand
@@alvinthepmofficial @alvinthepmofficial Thank you so much. I'm enrolling on Project Management and Certification then I'll take the Scrum Master course after i finished the PMC. Do you have any suggestion with Google Certification Programs. Can you send me the links or should I used your code to get some credits for me watching your videos for this classes.
