I doubted the main deck bring to light, but wow was I wrong. Yes you didn't encounter the time walk in the graveyard already scenario, but that's only going to be an issue in games where you are probabily already ahead (from the timewalk). A time warp is often great in this deck and it also enabled chains of time warp -> regrowth/tamiyo +time walk
Hearing LSV referring to pick your poison as swords to plowshares and then watching him almost always pass it even when he’s green and it gets passed to him late is confusing
Like I watch almost all of his drafts and I’ve seen him see it 7-8th pick so many times while he is playing green and I think I’ve seen him talk himself out of it all but 1, maybe 2 times
Force of will was gonna be really hard to play without Brainstorm. Bolt, Minsc and Boo, Wrath maybe, Prismatic, Pest Infestation as removal already and Miscalculation and Mana Leak as additional interaction; most of the bases are covered there and Pick your Poison seems a luxury. Force wound up a side board card as it was on the basis of lacking blue count. Seems like the right pick this time in retrospect.
Either leagues are getting harder or Im getting worse (or maybe both). I used to trophy much more often and I used to see a lot more junk do-nothing decks. It seems like after vintage cube was running nearly every month the average player got better.
Has the player base also shrunk? In the time before Arena I infrequently played Magic Online including Cube drafts, and I certainly drafted many junk do-nothing decks. People with more free time than skill, such as I was, may be less inclined to play MO Cubes today. I may be considering a time frame far larger than you are considering.
There's less bad cards now in the cube. There's very few unplayables in this newest edition of Vintage Cube on Mtgo. Meaning whatever 40 card deck you assemble there's alot of variance. The more unplayable cards that are in a cube - The more a good player will win over a bad player.
It didn't happen, but I was a little worried about you getting flooded with this build. Any thought to playing 15 land? Your colored sources are actually pretty good and you had 5 cards at 1 that were just mana sources. Without much draw, it seemed like you were a bit vulnerable to getting flooded. I suppose you did have Uro and BTL though which definitely helps, as does having pest infestation as an x spell.
The Revoker named Ignoble. It's impossible to tell because the text on the cards is so small, but he mentions it at some point in the match (that Revoker named Ignoble, not that he didn't pay for Daze bc of it), but I don't have the time stamp.
It felt like you won a couple of those games by the skin of your teeth, I wonder if this was a pod draft whether your deck would have fared better or worse? Maybe worse because of the flash and reanimator cards you passed?
I think forcing the white early was a mistake. Would have taken Titania over Wrath at 3:43, and any of Treachery, Zenith, and Elegant Parlor over Spara's HQ at 8:30. Would have also taken Wren and Six over Huatli at 7:42; if you splash either red or white, would rather splash the Wren, especially with time walk. Prismatic at 4:30 was OK since nothing else in the pack and it's legitimately splashable and powerful against the unfair decks.
I love your videos, but is there any way you can try to prevent the really loud swallowing sound into the mic? I have misophonia and i can't watch the videos where that keeps happening. I understand if it's not something you can control.
passing Flash because primus and wurm were already gone felt so bad to watch, especially taking hexdrinker over it. for one, you're passing said flash to whoever got one or both of those cards and two, the opportunity cost for taking it in that pack was so low. hexdrinker isn't really what this deck wants to be doing anyway and then seeing torsten and vaultborn come through in the same pack. if you're in colors, theres very few cards worth passing Flash for imo. certainly not hexdrinker in a deck like this.
I think you over rate cards that take multiple turns to get value. That wont work in a cube this fast. I learned how to draft from older lsv videos. Before the "how dare you question lsv", this is his own advice that he recorded better results with.
What I’ve noticed is that some people that draft time walk don’t win because they are drafting around the time walk and so they weaken their deck. It only works reliably if you have tutors for Time Walk
@@hwago123 it wasnt about a specific card choice in this video. I made the comment after the sylvan library pick. Sylvan is often just mirris guile in cube. You cant draw off it vs white or red. Hes taken bombardiers as high pick a lot, which is slow. Trying to get grizly bear+ and grey ogre+ across the finish line isnt a real plan anymore. Thats power creep. It what it is.
@WordSonFoRealz I think calling bombardier just Grey ogre+ is selling it way too short. Haste + menace makes it hard to block profitably, even if it just hits for 2 the first time. The card has 'oops lethal from nowhere' on it, too. Even if it sometimes is just Grey ogre with menace, oftentimes it completely dominates the board
@@finalflameKorisky multiple cards and turns to "combo" thats disrupted by pretty much every card that interacts with a creature. A strong card, and a strong card innthe context of the format its in are different things.
P1P1 Time Walk ✔️
Completely Busted Deck ✔️
Video under an hour **nervous sweats**
Surely this means we're going to speedrun a 3-0??!?
That pest infestation nuke in round 1 was spectacular

I think Haywire Mite over scrubland for another trinket mage target

he refers to a lot of things as swords lol
Tbf he’s not the one who called it that originally, I feel like he’s partly making fun of the dude that said it, (it’s clearly not swords)
@@NotBad4aDad I knew he wasn’t the first one to say it but I guess I hadn’t considered that he may be being sarcastic about it
Always impressed how you make 'green decks' fun and interactive
green deck????? lol
lol in R2G1 when you cast misc and said "why don't they wanna play anymore?" 🤣🤣🤣
Temur is my fav shard love to see all the great temur bombs keep up the great vids LSV 🎉.

i think these videos are a big reason why the vintage draft community is getting better.
More ppl are just watching lsv draft every day and get better
Yeah we're definitely leveling up from watching this

This was a fantastic Minsc and Blue deck!
36:04 amazing 🤣
35:44 Build your own Fractured Identity
LSV and mixing up Minsc and Boo's names
Name a more iconic duo
Damn, for a Time Walk and Sol Ring deck this was quite the nailbiter :D
Legitimately the best “fair” Bring to Light deck I’ve seen
For the Drake meme:
Time Warp✋️
Bring to Light for Time Walk 👈
Lmao seeing that Kaervek in the last 3 picks, everyone in the magic world must've watched yesterday's upload 😂😂😂
17:09
This was absolutely an all time draft. This deck is sweet.
"I can't believe I doubted you, bring to light." hahaha nice.
The trophy called shot. What a draft!
Wild to name 2 cards you are looking for after pick 1 and have them both by pick 6
It’s hard to get trophies in mtgo vintage cube…. Good players and insane decks running around.
That being said, I have two. Take that, LSV
Bring to light did some serious work
If you dont trophy with time walk sol ring i will be very sad.
I will be happy
26:00 Fetch tropical and play nissa, hold up miscalc and hit dak for 3. Hehe you even talked about this specific play when you drafted the miscalc
Higher resolution please! Also love the games, thanks!
Wow this deck almost drafted itself :)
what a ride 😅 thanks lsv!
Don’t give us false hope!🙏🏻
Brainstorm feels so good to draw sometimes

Thanks! Great draft.
8 picks in i think it’s pretty safe to say time walk is gonna get played
that last opponent OMG
Would be great to see you record in higher than 1080p :(
First pick time walk let’s go!
WOW THIS WAS A FAST DRAFT
I know card names are whatever, but as a fan of the original Baldurs Gates, it hurts to hear him refer to Boo as Minsc and Boo and Minsc as Boo.
Why didnt he pay Daze with Ignoble Hierarch at 27:51?
Was just about to type this question
Phyrexian revoker
The Revoker named Ignoble. It's impossible to tell because the text on the cards is so small, but he mentions it at some point in the match (that Revoker named Ignoble, not that he didn't pay for Daze bc of it), but I don't have the time stamp.

Great deck and finally a 3-0 ❤️
You got a busted deck, but you really had to work for that 3 - 0. The two artifact decks you fought were *wild*.
I guess that M1G2 Nissa wasn't worth tapping ignoble to pay for daze , lol
I think the Revoker had names Ignoble and was still on the battlefield
Revoker on ignoble, give me a little credit (lol)
@@LSVargas oh, my bad LOL . I didn't catch that.
Is Raging Goblin busted with time walk?
Raging Goblin is just busted
My daily content hit, yes.
When Hexdrinker is played turn 1 or 2 the game just ENDS.. that card

I’m boo daboo Dee daboo di daboo Dee daboo di daboo Dee daboo di
Fun draft. Just fun.
I love watching LSV draft U/G. He always does really fun things with that color pair
“I’m not gonna miscalc a zero mana card here.”
> Casts Miscalculation on Everflowing Chalice.
Classic LSV.
that chalice was a two mana card

Hexdrinker is a one card wincon. It’s one of the better cards in cube! Total house
Had the ignoble to pay for the daze at 27:50 :D
nope
It was revokered.
So many people in this comment section think they're better at MTG than LSV yet they can't follow a board state that consists of 5 nonlands
