Eventually, things got to the point where there were so many files and junk taking up space on that computer that it would freeze every few seconds, and because the file size of my world was so big, my brother deleted it, hoping that the computer would run faster (it didn't). I miss that world, the whole vibe and the layout of the map was so soothing and I would come up with stories involving the villagers and other mobs just living their everyday lives and sometimes getting into massive battles. That world will always hold a special place in my heart, and even almost ten years later I can still remember the location of every single thing I've made in that world. Sometimes I play through that map in my mind to relive the childhood memories.
I remember accidentally deleting my main Minecraft world once. My stomach dropped right away. But then I remembered I had a full hard drive backup from the day before. Which was the very first day I started keeping a regular backup, after neglecting to do so for a long time. Quite a close call, but thanks to that backup, I only lost a few hours' worth of progress, rather than the entire world.
Me and my sister made this really cool world with a bunch of stuff and cool builds and then it just disappeared one day and we were super sad. I don’t even know how it got deleted :(((
"does it bite?" "no but it can hurt you in other ways" the dog: "one day the last minecraft video will be uploaded, one day the last world will be created, one day the last block will be placed" *sadness intensifies*
Holy shit, this finally gave me an answer as to what happened to my childhood minecraft world. I thought it was deleted and made a new one, but found my old base with one of the chunks replaced with ocean biome. Weirdest thing to ever happen to me in minecraft.
„Those memory’s won’t be deleted“ This sentence left me in tears. Both sadness and happiness. I lost my first Minecraft world just 5 hours after I created it. It was destroyed by a broken HDD. A thunderstorm fried the whole computer. There were a lot of files to be recovered (about 90%) but in 500gb of storage, exactly the section my games were stored in, a small emp blast erased everything from existence. You’ll never forget the first moments in your first own world. I had a world with the same seed in the same version 5 years after I played it the first time. It wasn’t the same but still left me in tears of happiness… I can’t describe my emotions the moment i got the chance to try again. I still play this world, have 1200+ hours play time in it and try to imagine how it could turned out if i never stopped playing it. The world file grew to 10+ GB. Its still stuck in version 1.7 cuz i can’t update further without breaking it. In this world you can see how I grew up developing new skills. RIP first Minecraft world 22th of December 2010 12.44 UTC to 18.10 UTC
"One day you'll place your last block ever and not even know it" is equivalently heart breaking to "One day you played outside with your childhood friends for the last time and didn't even know it"
It's actually not. Written computer data is never "cleaned", it's just marked as free to write over. So technically, it's possible to grab deleted files if you have sufficiently advanced tech.
I had a very wierd glitch where i created a new world in one of the early mc versions (1.6 i think). Then i opened it in 1.18 (not directly, game didnt allow, but first by opening on 1.8 i think). The overworld looked wierd because the 100ish block area around spawn was almost like surrounded by a wall behind which was a different world(by wall i mean this thing that happens when a mountain gets cut in half) . I think its a different world because a plains biome at spawn suddenly got interrupted and behind the wall was the mountain biome. When i went to the nether i found a nether portal that was not built by me in this world. The terrain looked familiar and i realised that i used to speedrun on this seed, and i was even able to tell where the fortress was. What i think happened was somehow my new world collided with an older one that i even deleted. No idea how that happened. Of course it’s possible that i just opened the wrong world, but i checked and im pretty certain thats not the case and its an actual glitch. When you talked about the colliding stuff on 10:10 i think, i didnt really understand it lol but i decided to write this comment
Something similar happened to me! I deleted my 2nd world by accident but 3 years later I found my old house built by my sister and we matched some old pictures she took of the house with the one on the new world and it was so similar (even though half of it was cut off by a mountain) that was probably the weirdest thing that happened to me in Minecraft-
12:20 "but, the memories we made on those worlds, can't be deleted" this part just sent me to the past when i would play with my best friends every day, until they started to play less, and less, and less. and one point (that it is right now) they just thought that i don't exist.

I love how the video went from technical to emotional.
It wasn’t the same but still left me in tears of happiness…
I can’t describe my emotions the moment i got the chance to try again.
I still play this world, have 1200+ hours play time in it and try to imagine how it could turned out if i never stopped playing it. The world file grew to 10+ GB. Its still stuck in version 1.7 cuz i can’t update further without breaking it.
In this world you can see how I grew up developing new skills.

MINECRAFT WORLD MADE OF STEVES
Trueee
