Not sure why some are hating on her. She likely plays better than you! Lots of famous guitarists have played cover songs! It's her take on it, so you either like it or don't. I think she did a great job, very heartfelt.

They probably know the song better...i.e. nobody in the 60's knew how to damp strings (that's pretty much all they do) Voodoo Chile is, the, bar for an electric guitarist: also, there is no growl from an added 65watt amp, the only feedback! Hendrix also played this song without a flatpick, which is why it has depth. I will say however that this version is better than Stevie Ray Vaughn's, Orianthe's or any other I've heard since the album Electric Ladyland came out, all of which are a complete shambles!!!

Cute! i had a band when I was 13 being a classic trained Jazz drummer we had a 12 year old lead guitar player that was as good but also jammed the song for 12 minutes live he was a Jazz guitarist who loved Hendricks Dayle Sturtmmer aslo could play it at 15 he is from my home town
Damn, I had no idea that Ally Venable could play that well. I thought she was just another pretty young girl singer/guitarist, but that was absolutely fine. Way better than 99% of today’s commercial guitarists, she’s easily good enough to be a session guitarist and more than good enough (not to mention pretty enough) to be a major hit.
Saw ALLEY with the master BUDDY GUy IN DALLAS 5;weeks ago was awesome!!! And saw ALLIE TONIGHT at the Granada in Dallas!! SHE WAS SPECTACULAR And PLAYED the guitar very good and her singing was good!!! The drummer hit to hard but was a very good performance especially ALLIE!!!! YOU DUDE'S didn't say much positive comments on this FINE YOUNG MUSICIAN???? CAN YOU COMPLAINERS SHRED LIKE HER??? I DOUGHT IT!!! SO SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!

But bad drummer, people think bad band; everything sounds off. Same for the bassist, but to a lesser degree. That said, can’t say I even noticed the drummer here - my ears (and mo’ debinitely my eyes) were all for Ally. Did not know she could play at this level.

Gotta master what came before you if you want to be as great as those that came before you. She has a lot of blues albums out with originals she’s probably not super famous because most people are to insecure to have an excellent female guitarist better than them. There are not many women playing to this level to match blues artists like bb and srv & jimi. I’m sure we all will know her name eventually. Especially with a voice, skills and beauty like that.🥵

She does well no doubt . But has guts to play with the guitar behind her back . Because no disrespect but she's no SRV . You can see her having to think .. about what she's doing when playing that style . While it was so 2nd nature to him it wasn't even close .
