Melanie, years later…and a few thousand more subscribers!…I have been binge watching your videos and love this idea with the scraps. I checked out Jessica’s video and now I’m looking at everything and thinking CLUSTER!!! I also have you to thank for some books I own and journals I’ve made, plus all the craft supplies I own. I also sew, quilt, crochet, paint, stamp…I have the need to keep my mind and hands busy. The pandemic started as I was halfway through my second battle with breast cancer and I live my life a bit too cautiously. Staying put a lot introduced me to many fabulous UA-camrs as well, and you are one of them. I can listen to you talk and rant all day! I have noticed you don’t have any new videos or posts in the last few years. Just letting you know you are missed. I pray your life is going smoothly and all is well❤️
❤❤❤Gayle recently made another correspondence journal for herself. I believe she mentioned you in her video. Love your work! Glad you left it here for crafters like me to enjoy and learn from.
The wider ones would be great for book marks and belly bands, etc.. Awesome video!! Thank You! There are a few other gals that have done some of these, but like yours, each has a different take. Love them!!! Happy Crafting!! 🌹😉🙋
I find this video so inspiring! I loved all the things you pulled out of your supplies and how organized you are! I have got tons of scraps and was searching for a way to use them up. Sadly I don't have a sewing machine because I love the look of sewn paper. Maybe one day I will have the space lol. Anyways, I can tell I need go watch more of your videos! Thanks. Yes, I would find that so embarrassing if my regular friends, family and acquaintances on facebook found out about my channel! Eek!!
As fellow Denyse Schmidt fabric lover, you have the option of purchasing a "scrap" bag from her studio for 15 dollars I believe... I have done this several times and they are magical!!
I love scraps too.. I've been saving the smallest of scraps and they are handy as confetti...so scrapaholic is the perfect word for me too. I love fabric and Iknow I got that from watching my grandmother sew utility blankets. I knew that one day I will be sewing blankets like her...I call them "mijiu" blankets, in honor of my grandmother.
Love all of these and really enjoy your videos, hope you continue to make more! I used to save scraps, dumped them all, now i want to start saving them again, if only in a nice organized box like yours! Congrats on the 1K it's well deserved!
Congratulations on achieving the milestone of 1000 subscribers, Melanie. Awesome work!!! Love your creativity and seeing ways to use our scraps! Thank you! 😀 And here’s to many more milestones 🥂
Oh, Melanie that’s so exciting!! Congratulations! And I’m delighted you making more of these encyclopedias as I’ve bought 2! Following your lead. You have a fun, colorful style. I’d love to emulate it.
This was great and I was so excited to see that you had posted a video and it's actually one of seeing you :) I love the idea of doing a use up your scrap series I will def. Be crafting along. Thanks for all the inspiration as always. :)
I enjoy your videos, Melanie. Oh and by the time you had gotten to the point where you were asking yourself, "What was I talking about?" I had already forgotten!!! lol Congrats on your 1st Thousand Subbies! Wishes for many more to come!
Congrats on your subbie milestone! New subbie here. Your scrappies remind me of Tsunami Rose's style a little bit. She love color and does scrappies all the time. These are so pretty!! I love trimming out index cards to get them ready to just pop in pockets!! Thanks for sharing!!
No need to apologise for your long videos. I often have you playing along with me as I journal for company and inspiration :D Love your content. Have a beautiful day, from New Zealand.
We're just coming out of the c-virus quarantine and videos like yours makes me feel like I'm not alone. I could sit & watch your "chatty" videos for hours. Thank you for all your inspiration. :)
I found myself trying to get you to pick certain things to go on your strips, and you IGNORED ME! Harumph. I actually got out of bed since I wan't being successful in my attempt to sleep, and watched your video, I bumped up my a/c just a little bit, and wrapped up in a quilt my sister made for me and enjoyed your banter. Even if you did ignore me.
Melanie :) I know this is late, but congrats on 1000 subscribers (though now you have 1.6K, you rock star). Thanks also for just being yourself on camera (don't ever lose that), it makes you so down to earth and relatable and just like "us". I get inspiration from that and think...hey maybe I could do this one day :). Keep these great videos coming. I LOVE the idea of making stuff out of scrapes!
You make me laugh out loud. My husband thinks I'm nuts😀😁I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!! i'm so happy I found you recently. Your scrappy's are great.... I'm cutting as I write this. TFS♥♥♥♥♥♥
Congrats on reaching 1000 Melanie! Love your ideas for using your strips and other scraps. Thank you for sharing with us and doing this video : ) I don't edit, just do the video and post. I tried to edit a couple of weeks ago and ended up deleting most of the video, lol!
Daisy with Tsunami Rose does these. She zips them on through her machine. Now she might have gotten this idea from someone else, who knows maybe someone way befire YT did this. I too watch Jessica, i won one of her giveaways and she reached to let let me know, very sweet of her.
Thank you for your video. LOVED IT . Gave me lots of ideas. Would love to see more scrappy items and especially your quilts. I too am a quilter. Someday would you show us how you store your items, Thanks Louise Ps I m sure we are all sending prayers to the victims families.
Louise! (Sorry I called you Ms. Eddie.) I would love to share my sewing room with you all, I just need to get it presentable first. My sewing room is my happy place.
As if I needed more excuses to keep tiny pieces of scraps lol. No girl, I am right here getting distracted by your crafting with you to remember what you were saying. Sadly that happens to me too often l, than I remember right when I'm about to fall asleep.
I loved this video! Thanks so much. I am going to try this out. What do you use there scrappies for? I see you use them for journaling cards but what else can they be use for? Thanks and have a great day. Making YT videos are hard. I often go through many takes before I get it right.
Hi Juliana, I mostly attach them to the edges of journal pages as easy and fast decorations or tabs. I also subbed to your channel and can't wait to check out your videos!
Thanks Melanie. I have to start making videos again. I have never made a tutorial before. Maybe in the near future. At the moment I am trying to organize my very messy studio space. Thanks!
I taught sewing for a few years and I bought BROTHER brand sewing machines to teach my students, who were mostly children. My Brother machines have held up great despite the very rough handling of my students. Right now, I'm using a Brother CP-7500 to sew paper, but I don't know if it's still available. [EDIT - It looks like the Brother CS-6000i is the newer version of the machines I have.] If you wanted to spend a little more, I've always been happy with my JANOME brand machines too. I would not recommend a Singer brand machine; I've never known anyone that had anything but trouble with a modern Singer brand machine.

NOT boring. I made 17 of these while watching your video.
❤❤❤Gayle recently made another correspondence journal for herself. I believe she mentioned you in her video. Love your work! Glad you left it here for crafters like me to enjoy and learn from.
Oh it's not boring! It's fascinating! I am also a lover of scraps! Beautiful. Thank you!

You crack me up! I would tell you to yell louder, but my hearing isn't great... too many concerts in the 1980s! Thanks for stopping by!
@@MelanieSullivan I blame Billy Squier and Loverboy for a lot of my hearing loss!
😂😂
YeAH for hitting 1K subscribers! And welcome back. We've missed your videos! I'm hoping you do more Journal w/Me vids too!

I am intrigued by these but I DON'T sew. What kind of machine would be inexpensive and idiot-proof? Any ideas or suggestions?
I taught sewing for a few years and I bought BROTHER brand sewing machines to teach my students, who were mostly children. My Brother machines have held up great despite the very rough handling of my students. Right now, I'm using a Brother CP-7500 to sew paper, but I don't know if it's still available. What machine are using?
I'm using an inexpensive. lightweight Brother CP7500 for sewing paper right now. It's my dedicated paper machine.
Okay. Will you share your IG with us?
I haven't been updating very often, but it's instagram.com/melanietexasfreckles/
