This is becoming a really interesting series, keep 'em coming! Great to see investment in big buildings like that and I love the art deco styling. Leeds is also a destination I'd love to check out for myself.
Great video, Rog! Welcome to Leeds! It was nice to see you went through some familiar places I go through a lot, such as the Victoria Quarter! Great review of the hotel too! Looks very pretty!
Hi Roger.... I would definitely say that Leeds Hotel after your review, is definitely worth the price. .... the place is beautiful inside and like you your video brings back memories for me when you did your wandering round the city. Great stuff again Roger. ...... well its what you can only expect from you .... cheers my friend. ...Richard Turnbull in Newcastle upon Tyne 😊😊😊
Wow, what a beautiful building, I love art deco, not like any other station hotel I’ve seen. The interior looked just amazing, they have down such a fantastic job keeping it fresh, modern but very much keeping the historic feel. The best I’ve seen you in so far 😊
Hello Roger, I never realised Leeds had such a quality railway hotel. Its standards are impressive. But its rates are on the high side. When I used to visit Leeds, numerous times between the early 1990s and early 2000s with the family, we would stay at the Marriott which is also close to the station. Comparing rates I am sure many (especially hard-nosed corporates) would be happy with what Marriott charges. At times when it's not busy (Marriott prices accomm in line with supply and demand) a single/double costs £134, executive room inc breakfast (may be Continental b'fast ?) £179 and one-bedroom suite (inc b'fast in the exec lounge) £224. (Some restrictions apply) Granted the standards not no posh though. Also your city tours are great and make a change from just the hotel review. This is turning out to be a good series !
Thanks Alex. Wasn't sure if people wanted to see the cities as well (or whether I should do a separate video). What I didn't show in the video is there a massive excavation going on in front of Leeds City Station which means the really cool side entrance and bridge from the Queens is currently blocked off. Looks like some interesting tunnels have been exposed, though I'm not sure what they are doing.
Hi reg lovley hotel just very pricey while I stayed in Leeds. Few years ago was at ibis style anyway queen's hotel very nice and a great video I living these railway hotel videos came up the great work reg cheers 🍻
My sister is currently in Leeds doing an English literature masters course. We went up to see her last Saturday. We got the train from Leeds from Chinley via Sheffield. We then got the 6 bus to Headingley to see her at the Lupton residences. My Dad usually goes to the Medieval Congress in Leeds every year. This year it is from the 1st to 4th July. He has previously stayed at the Premier Inn in Headingley when he has seen my sister.
Another great vlog, Roger, & good seeing Leeds city centre. Passed through Leeds last November, from Settle, before back to Alnmouth, so only saw a small bit of the city centre! Yes, the hotel was great & breakfast looked fine, but a bit pricey. The Glasgow hotel is still my favourite to date! 😊 👍
lovely !!!!! used to have 2 good restaurants in the old days nice its been renovated and kept some of the old style ...Waiting for you to do gleneagles or turnberry but that is 600 plus !!!!
It appears that the hotel's pricing has not been thoroughly researched. Upon reviewing Google's price trends for rooms in Queens, it seems that room prices only exceed £200 on nights with particularly high demand. The average room rate for the specified room type is typically £126.
it looks absolutely lovely but I'd have expected breakfast included in the price...and at least a little something in the fridge 😊 and I dread to think of the cost of that gin martini 😆🍸
I stayed at The Queens a few years ago on the way back from Northumbria to meet an old friend, I'm also a former Leeds student. It looked the same, though it may have been mid refit. I really didn't like it. Full of kids on a big night out in Leeds with multiple room occupancy, shouting and banging on doors at 3am in the morning. Breakfast barely above budget hotel level. The lift a nightmare, I gave up in the end and humped all our luggage down the stairs. Parking in the Q-Park a hassle. Dirty windows. Just poor. I really resented paying the price and although I complained they didn't offer any money off. It gets good reviews so maybe I just had a bad experience. I've a conference there it September so I'll have to figure out whether to give it a second shot.
When you're doing your review what about introducing a bounce test on the bed. You could jump up and down on it as if it were a trampoline and give it marks out of 10 .
There’s a huge excavation project happening in front of the City Station next door. I imagine this creates a lot of dust that gets swept up in that revolving door. 🥲
Glasgow is still winning and is going to be hard to beat. If i ignore the price i would probably still put this one in third place. (Newcastle taking second place). I hope they asked you for I.D. in the union 😉
Thanks! I did actually have my original Union Card with me in case they asked for proof. But then the person in the photo looked young and had hair so they might not have believed it was me! 😂😂

Thanks Steve. I love Art Deco too. I think the ultimate Art Deco Hotel is the one on Burgh Island in Devon. That's on the list too! 🏢
Wow !!
You have made Leeds look incredible.
Enjoyed the vlog bud. Look forward to the next one.
Thanks very much. I do have a soft spot for Leeds and the city does look incredible! 😀

I had friends who lived in Lupton flats. I applied there for my second year and then ended up in a house near the Hyde Park Cinema instead. 🏢
