I think Rubik’s is starting to realize that they don’t make the best cubes. They’re still going to make a lot of money but not really going to appeal to speedcubers. So, they’re making more unique products that appeal to everyone.

Hey I just got that cube! Nice! Only suggestion I would make is that it could be more sensitive to temperature bcs as of rn it needs to get really cold like a fridge or a very cold classroom (my case lol) for it to turn completely black. But most of the time the temperature isn't enough so it's just gonna be a regular rubiks cube 90% of the time.

I should warn you the rubix phantom doesn't last forever, the color changing material can expire meaning eventually the cube will be stuck, unable to change color
I have one of these as well. It's fun because it makes you try to solve it as quick as you can. Although i would like if the colour faded even FASTER , once they are lit they dont fade too fast. Fun challenge though, especially for the relatively low cost. I also was surprised about the easy movement of the cube.
i have this cube and as you play with it the friction from your hands and the fact that you continue to touch every piece as you play, it wont go back to black unless you set it down for a while
Exactly 43 minutes ago I had bought this cube from Walmart for $8.43. In an effort to cool it off faster, I held it out my car window and it fell out, absolutely exploding on the highway. Overall a 7/10, it’s fine
mine takes like 10 minutes for the color to fade which is more than enough time for me to solve it as it takes me around 20 seconds to solve a normal 3x3

I have a phantom myself and I must say I'm impressed by the turning speed from a Rubik's brand cube. It's my favorite cube in my collection
plot twist: the corner was twisted but we didnt see it
The fact that it doesn’t seem to turn like absolute dog water is pretty impressive
It turns surprisingly well imo
the inverse of the phantom would probably be harder, where untouched the colors are shown and when heat is applied it turns all black

the best way to reveal the colors is to run it under hot water. I have a phantom cube myself and i can confirm this
Fun fact: it is also light sensitive. Turn off the lights, use a flashlight close-up, and observe!

They should do a backwards one where the colours disappear at body temperature. So you have to solve it quickly before it disappears
