Teardown - Alternator regulator relay RE-03

- #20 I got a weird device from a friend and decided to perform a teardown and see how its built. Its a car alternator regulator relay used to enable battery charging when the voltage is low. Although this particular model, the RE-03, is for an old car, this sort of relay is still used in many motor vehicles with a rechargeable battery to this day.
It turns out to be quite a simple and easy to understand circuit.

Thank *#~i! for this vid! Have been looking for a tech level circuit step through that isn't either, fundamentally a totally WRONG explanation (as many here were/are) or, generalises to the point of irrelevance in learning anything.
Love to see you do more teardowns. Your content is great btw thanks
Ive been looking for this explanation for years. Thank you
super helpful
Thanks for this approch
Possible the output transistor is a darlington. for use a mosfet you need a low voltage on type like a digital one otherwise it will do work bad.
These (with a solid state relay) make a excellent solar battery charger.
Hi, i make a regulator for my car using tip3055 but that is too hot on transistor. Could you provide a video about diy regulator for small car?
Can a n mosfet work ?
Interesting video!
Ive tried making one the problem is the field voltage needs to be around 5.5v and depending on the load on the alternator between 1 amp and 4 amps. 5.5v at 2 amps gives 100 amp out and 5.5v at 4 amps gives 200 amps all at 6000 rpm 5.5v in = 14.5v out 11v in = 29v out 14.5v in =38v out I would need to use a isolated voltage / current regulator between the output B+ and case and field - as Field + goes to B+
Sir If we want alternator 48v output than what can we do change which components of avr
Can we by pass that shity voltage regulator and pump the ass out of baterrys? What wuld dual wire do in a rotor if its in series ore pararel wound?
