I was so torn between Kawasaki Z900 and Suzuki GSX S750 for a while and I ended up buying S750. For those who do NOT require all the electronic gadgets, you will really Z900 although I am quite happy with my current S750 🥰
I went through the same. I went with 2020 z900. I would have been happier with either. To be honest I fell victim to the gadgets haha. My general rule is buy the one with best resale value when I’m torn between 2.... I like to hold on to a bike for about 1 to 2 years and then try something new.
Hey Doodle, I did an oil change, air filter replacement, chain clean and lube, and replaced my Versys' back tire yesterday. Went for my first real drive through the back country this afternoon and completely enjoyed it! (Helped that it was such a beautiful day!) Next on the agenda is finding good riding jacket and pants and scheduling a driver's course through the local community college. Hopefully they are not too backed up!
It's an awesome bike; my hubby has the 2020 Z900, and even though it's not super comfy for me as pillion rider, I still love going for rides with him because of the thrill of that throttle! Plus it sounds better than any bike ever. IMHO ;)

For the first moments of you getting on the bike and throughout the next several minutes, I had to turn down the volume. The wife was near and all that "enthusiasm" coming through the speakers, well I was afraid she would think I am watching something other than a bike review. (What a sincere and genuine review.)
Well done Carolyn. I got rid of my Ninja 650 for a Triumph Tiger 900. I like the extra power of the bigger engine. The Ninja was too uncomfortable for me at my age (78).
Good point. I am 75 and looking for a fun bike. Must keep in mind comfort. I did have a brief test ride on a Tiger 800 XCX a few years ago. I recall it had a very smooth throttle. Way more comfy than the Harley Sporsters I was demoing at this dealer. You had any problems yet?
@@dry509 just got it and the only problem was with the corporation dealership. I think these are pretty reliable. I went for the 900 over the new 850 because of cruise control. Couple hundred miles and I have used it a lot.

Saving up for the Z900 I think within 12 months...cheers
I also from Aus thinking the same as you. Test rode the z900 and it has amazing power but very controllable. Also leaning towards the green and black over the white and red (latest models).
Thank you for your vlog review. Great job !!! I'm 5'6" and looking for my next bike. Started with a Yamaha 125, then got a Honda 360. My last bike was a Harley Superglide. I haven't rode for awhile, but I'm feeling the call. From Hawaii, God Bless !!!
Between specs and emotion on the bike-it was informative. I am also a big fan of that bike. I may get one. The styling of a few of them -blue or green/black are so nice looking.
Is your Triumph suspension set up correctly for someone your size? Whenever I watch you test riding these sporty bikes, I can't help but wonder how much more you would enjoy riding something set up with the correct springs. Most bikes come off the showroom floor with springs for a 190 pound dude. Getting a bike set up by a pro for your weight might make for an interesting before/after video!
Well you're not wrong about being correctly set up for your own weight, but 190 pounds? If that was true it'd be perfect for me! Unfortunately it's been my experience most Japanese bikes I've owned were more like 150-170lbs, but like I said all from the big four so maybe that's why?
@@c0dy1287 I'm 165 with gear and when I jump on a Yamaha MT10 with no preload in the fork, it only compresses 20mm. 26mm or so would be ideal. Doodle would probably only compress the fork 15mm. A rider her weight needs lighter springs on any bike... period
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle Hi Doodle, your STriple has 110mm front and 124mm rear suspension. With the correct springs, the suspenion should compress 30% with you and full gear. That means around 33mm for the fork, and 37mm in the rear. Have a friend measure it with a tape measure. Lots of videos on UA-cam about "checking motorcycle sag" for instructions. I bet your bike is way to stiff and would be better for you with lighter springs
@@luisdetomaso2224 Well you're certainly more knowledgeable than I am, like I said it's probably my limited experience and I've never got anything for myself bigger than a 750 (90s 750). I should probably take measurements as I'm so terrible I go completely by guess and feel "that feels terrible in the corner! But this setting feels great, okay leaving it there", my lazy process haha.
I can't quite work out which one of you two girls I prefer. The NOW Doodle, or the FUTURE Doodle. Probably the Future Doodle better, but only coz i'm in love with those Specs she wears to read us the Bike Specs with. Good Video Caroline, your back and forth from now to future is original and very entertaining. Thanks. Oh, purely on visuals, the Z900 is my favorite but first I need to ride 'em before judging them.
It does have a comfortable seating position. Feels like you sit in rather than on the bike. The seat itself, not so comfortable considering a seat upgrade on the near future.
As I’d expect. The bigger the engine the more Wuuuuuuu Huuuuuuuu 🤩 that’s what motorcycles can do to our lives. Awesome to hear you experience it too 🤘
I'm still riding my 2017 Z900 daily and I love it. I've had a used 2010 Z1000 (in my avatar) for a few years but happy for a downgrade but brand new 2017 back then.
Same, it may be because of our height. Doodle is 5’4”, I’m 5’11”. I’m not sure of your height, but I’m guessing it’s closer to mine than Doodle’s. I was looking for a windscreen today
@@kj7682 5'7 kinda in the middle. Seems that Puig makes a pretty popular windscreen. I daily my z and just deal with it for now... the larger windscreens almost always look weird on these bikes
Is is not feasable to lay down on the tank when going fast? Like, is the bike built in a way, that obstructs this? I used to own a Suzuki GSX-750F, which was a blend of a tourer and a sportsbike. Hella comfy, would mostly sit rather upright. But when going home from my tour, I'd hop on the Autobahn (I'm German) press myself against the tank and go 200km/h +. 6"2 with a wide frame and thinking of buying a Z900. I am now living in Japan and don't expect to exceed 140km/h on the highway that often and likely averaging smth below 100km/h anywhere else.
A little late to the party here, but I just picked up a 2022 Z900 ABS after 20 years of riding super sport bikes; mainly the Yamaha R6, in a variety of generations. Watched your review, and it made me smile. Many, if not most, naked bikes ARE sport bikes... so don't keep correcting yourself on that one. They're usually just a more upright, detuned version of a super and/or sport bike, sans the fairing and clip-ons. Though, sometimes they are created specifically for this genre; not sharing many, if any, parts with other bikes in a manufacturers line-up. The focus, as you made note of, with many naked sport bikes is to create a more versatile, but great handling motorcycle. One that's fun in the canyons and at track days, but can handle daily commuting, longer highway rides, and be a better general purpose motorcycle. I've seen plenty of these Z900's turned into race bikes, ran at track days, and can usually run circles around the purebred super sports. While some of that's the riders skill set, it remains rather impressive. Also, the "bouncy" is likely due to your lighter self. The rebound damping likely needs to be increased a little to prevent the suspension from shooting back up too quickly. =) Can't wait for winter to end so I can thoroughly enjoy my new Z900. So, let the haters hate... these bikes ARE sporty, and need not be called "naked" at all times. Fun review, Doodle!
No substitute for cubes. I’ve always preferred the comfort and ease of a larger capacity bike. It doesn’t always have to be pinnned to the redline, but when you do 😁😁😁
Oh that’s awesome Doodle! I’m glad you had a chance to ride the Z900! I just bought mine in the Candy Plasma Blue color option. What an amazing bike and super comfy.
Nice! Love your enthusiasm. Kawasaki always could nail a 900. And an oil level sight glass too? Reminds me it's been too long since I've been to the dealer drooling over what's new. Gotta load up my 2 son's and get down there this weekend.
Can understand your enthusiasm for the Kawasaki 900. I kind of liked the KZ of the same size back in the late 70's when a friend let me take it for a shakedown after his carbs got sync'd. I think yours' has better manner's than did Terry's as I hit I-264 on the Sherman-Minton over the Ohio River that sunny day. Glad they still know how to build them, a keep their rider's satisfied as well. Have a great weekend. Be looking for your exclusives on all these new bikes coming out. Stay safe.
Just seeing this. I ended up getting the z650 because when I sat on the z900 the foot pegs dug into my legs. I know it's something I could get used to, but there was also this feeling of being "at home" when I sat on the 650! I'm surprised the foot peg issue didn't bug you, though!
I love that motorcycle. I test rode one just like that one on a demo day last year. It was super smooth and powerful. I did film my ride but I am not much of a natural talker so I haven't posted it. But I do agree with you, it is a great motorcycle.
Great review of this one! I love the cut-aways. I almost bought one of these because I loved the persimmon red paint compared to the green rs cafe. It wasn't for sale, so green cafe got purchased.
I'm so glad you like this bike .... I'm buying the 2022 Z900SE .... I want a comfortable ride with lots of power .... I need a more upright position.... I can no longer ride Harleys .... I have to have a back rest on those bikes these days ... the more upright position is better for longer rides 😁
I love the z900 … I as well need a bike with lots of power and is light weight and has an upright position… I’m 5ft6in … so I should fit like a glove on that beautiful bike … and the price is right .
Looks like a cool sporty bike 🏍️👍. It's a very different looking z900 than the new one sold where I live. Our version is more styled off the 80s z900. Yep the pickup is great on sports bikes. We'll worth the money for the speed.
Just bought my 2022 Kawasaki z900 last week! Dealership is gonna store it for me until spring! I can’t freaking wait to ride this beast! Just need to break it in a bit lol
It is just so good to see you Doodle! I love your reviews! I have a Kawasaki Concours 1400. I realize you are smaller than me but pound for pound I love the smooth power and the above 5 K rpm rush of the variable valve timing. I would encourage you to try one. It is a great touring boke with a sport bike feel!
Excellent job on this video clip. I learned so much. In fact, it inspires me to buy the Z 900 now. I have been debating between the Ninja 650 and this Z900. So, thank you !
I just buy a 2022 a month ago, and the smoothness of this engine, coming from a duke 390, the bike feel like butter smooth haha...oh and the torque and gearing, being able to go from a complet stop in any gear with just a little bit of throttle. I'm a big dude, 6ft and probably 270lbs fully equipe and I can start in 6th like in first, that really amaze me....0-150mph in one gear, compare to my duke 390, fifty gear to get to 60 XD
I went to the Kawasaki ride event near me a month or so ago. The Z900 was great but I fell in love with the Ninja 1000sx. I like having a fairing on the front to cancel out some of the wind.
Had mine for a couple months now same exact color too the black and red and I love it sport bike feel with a more comfortable seating and bar position. First thing to do on that bike though is get rid of those terrible mirrors and get some bar ends. The stock mirrors just show elbows and shoulders and look terrible
Have you driven the Kawasaki Z900RS? It is a great bike, very comfortable for short and long trips with lots of power. I have driven mine from Texas to Georgia. I have driven it from Georgia to northern Wisconsin and I'm getting ready next month to head up to the Tail of the Dragon and all those beautiful roads up there for a few day from south east Georgia.
The ft lbs is how much force it causes at 1 foot from the pivot point normally the crank or flywheel, so it's called ft lbs of torque, bhp is from the same spot unless people do wheel horsepower due to power loss in the drivetrain
Torque defined is a force in a twisting or rotational direction. lb-ft or ft-lb is the same because your multiplying the amount of force (lb) by the distance (ft). An example: take a 1 ft long wrench and tighten a bolt, put 5 lbs of pressure on it to tighten it. You have just applied 5 ft-lb of torque on that bolt. Another example take a 2 ft long wrench and put 20 lbs of pressure on that wrench and you are applying 40 ft-lb of torque. A motorcycle engine is the same it's creating that rotational force measured in pound-feet or foot-pounds. Hope this helps...
I was going to do my version of the mansplaining (you make it so tempting!), but figured I'd better read through first... and this one is pretty close to what I was going to say. I could go on, but... yeah.

so glad you likwd it, that's why I made the Z900 my baby. too bad you couldn't really take it out, this bike is fun in every gear.
I loved it!!!
I miss you Doodle ❤
Just got a 2021 Kawasaki z400 - my first bike! Loving it!! I already feel like I need more power 😁 so fun!
They're really great motorcycles. Love the 650's!
@@florme6494 The road NOT taken.. I mean the bike not taken..... and that has made all the difference!! 🥰
I freaking love your content. Your reactions are so genuine and priceless. Keep up the good work safe travels... ❤️💪🏾💯
It's an awesome bike; my hubby has the 2020 Z900, and even though it's not super comfy for me as pillion rider, I still love going for rides with him because of the thrill of that throttle! Plus it sounds better than any bike ever. IMHO ;)
Love the enthusiasm Doodle!
I really like the new format with double the doodles
awesome bike. surely doesn't look like it's that powerful but it is!!! smoooooth!
-lool was waiting for "future doodle" and ya didn't disappoint! cheers!
In 1975 I rode a KZ900 from Maine to Flordia and back. Best bike I ever had!
For the first moments of you getting on the bike and throughout the next several minutes, I had to turn down the volume. The wife was near and all that "enthusiasm" coming through the speakers, well I was afraid she would think I am watching something other than a bike review. (What a sincere and genuine review.)
😂
Doodle you are gold -- good reviews I enjoy your passion and excitement when riding. Great value - keep doing what you're doing. I'm from Australia and deciding between the MT09 and Z900... so far the Z900 is the sparkle in my eye... Keep up the good work. Great to NOT take things too serious ..
Lol, .75 inches cracks me up every video!
🤪
But we want it when are that height hahaha good to hear.
just came back from the shop to see if i can fit on the bike with thr same height 🤷♂️👌
Love your energy! Looking forward to all your upcoming review rides, particularly the MT07. Count me as a new subscriber
A rider her weight needs lighter springs on any bike... period
I think so? 🤷🏽♀️😋 asked my shop to adjust it to me based on what they thought.
Love the honesty in your reviews
I can't quite work out which one of you two girls I prefer. The NOW Doodle, or the FUTURE Doodle.
Probably the Future Doodle better, but only coz i'm in love with those Specs she wears to read us the Bike Specs with.
Good Video Caroline, your back and forth from now to future is original and very entertaining. Thanks.
Oh, purely on visuals, the Z900 is my favorite but first I need to ride 'em before judging them.
That Z900 looks like it has a comfy seating position. And so true about buying Japanese for the reliability.
It does! 😃
It does have a comfortable seating position. Feels like you sit in rather than on the bike. The seat itself, not so comfortable considering a seat upgrade on the near future.
I’m really enjoying your new video format. Nice 👍🇨🇦
@Doodle you rock and inspire, first official bike vid going up on my channel now.
As I’d expect. The bigger the engine the more Wuuuuuuu Huuuuuuuu 🤩 that’s what motorcycles can do to our lives. Awesome to hear you experience it too 🤘
For real!! 😅
Humble Throttle best stage name ever!
I don’t want to be mean to any two wheeled baby 🤪
I'm still riding my 2017 Z900 daily and I love it. I've had a used 2010 Z1000 (in my avatar) for a few years but happy for a downgrade but brand new 2017 back then.
the speed triples are a nice engine. I went crazy over those triple engines 10 years ago.
Doodle, I love your videos!
Can't wait for winter to end so I can thoroughly enjoy my new Z900.
So, let the haters hate... these bikes ARE sporty, and need not be called "naked" at all times.
Fun review, Doodle!
I had an 05 r6 that i sold recently. That thing was mechanically solid still for being almost 20 yrs old.
No substitute for cubes. I’ve always preferred the comfort and ease of a larger capacity bike. It doesn’t always have to be pinnned to the redline, but when you do 😁😁😁
Informative and entertaining, both at the same time; thank you Doodle...!!
Lowest price, highest reliability....... speaking truth.
Oh that’s awesome Doodle! I’m glad you had a chance to ride the Z900! I just bought mine in the Candy Plasma Blue color option. What an amazing bike and super comfy.
Cool!!!! 😃
Thanks for sharing! Would love to add the z900 as another motorcycle to ride. Great video!
Outstanding. I ride a 2014 honda CTX 700 N , 6 speed. Love it
I was looking forward to your impressions of the ZX-6R...maybe next time.
Z900 Cb650R Mt09 Gen 2 Thoughts on the 3 big bikes? I'M choosing between these 3 bikes🤔
Great review thanks I own a z900 I think they are amazing
Nice! Love your enthusiasm. Kawasaki always could nail a 900. And an oil level sight glass too? Reminds me it's been too long since I've been to the dealer drooling over what's new. Gotta load up my 2 son's and get down there this weekend.
Oooh yes even just to look!! 😃 thats a fun afternoon
Mmm that's the hard thing about demo rides - you only know so much about a bike after 25 minutes!
I like to see you riding showing emotions, then in parralel, specs review at home. GREAT REVIEW !!!!!! A1 cheers
Currently getting a z650 but definitely going to keep this in mind after getting some experiences with it
I'm so glad you like this bike ....
I was contemplating on getting the Z650...............but you vlog is pulling me towards the Z900. My goal is to getting ready for the ZH2.
"Do I need 900"... What does that have to do with anything!?! You can never have too much power! Thanks for the review Doodle. Take care.
🤪😂😂😂
Future Doodle is brilliant!
Future doodle saves the day, I love it lol
Excellent Doodle, think future Doodle is a fantastic idea and future Kody is a class touch too..... enjoying your videos soooo much 👍👊😎🌶️🌶️🌶️😎
Looks like a cool sporty bike 🏍️👍. It's a very different looking z900 than the new one sold where I live. Our version is more styled off the 80s z900. Yep the pickup is great on sports bikes. We'll worth the money for the speed.
I Like when you make your happy sounds when you are riding.. I enjoyed the video like always I all ways give you a thumbs up.
✌🤡
Just bought my 2022 Kawasaki z900 last week! Dealership is gonna store it for me until spring! I can’t freaking wait to ride this beast! Just need to break it in a bit lol
It is just so good to see you Doodle! I love your reviews! I have a Kawasaki Concours 1400. I realize you are smaller than me but pound for pound I love the smooth power and the above 5 K rpm rush of the variable valve timing. I would encourage you to try one. It is a great touring boke with a sport bike feel!
All hail Future Doodle 😆👍!!!
😂😂
Great to see you making the most of your arrangement with your day job. You're having a lot of fun, and it shows. And, was that a cameo by Mr. Doodle?
It was! He’s my often tech advisor
That Kawasaki z900 looks really good Like a big boy version of the Z125 💥👍
Pretty cool. Keep em coming!
Sensible you at home is very school teacher! 😂😂 but luckily naughty you is in sport mode blasting a Z900 down the road! Enjoying life girl! 😎👍🏽🏍
Waaahooooo!!! - Present Doodle
🤨 - Future Doodle
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle 😂😂😂😂future=☺️☕️. Present=🤪🏍💨
Think I love this bike, found a 2018 near me, may have to try it out.
Deal fell through, guy and gf had issues. .. not getting in the middle of that
I just bought a 2022 Z900 SE today. Obviously I'm ecstatic right about now.
Great video. I was looking at the MT-09 but recently have been checking out the Z900 it seems smoother.
I could go on, but... yeah.
That s on my shopping list ....but the Z900 RS is probably a better fit for me because of the look
I'm really fall in love kawasaki z900 ,when I will buy this brand I choice 🥰🥰🥰
Great review. Will you do a review on the z900rs? Thanks.
I’ll see if I can find one!
Great first ride video Doodle. Can't wait to see more of your first ride videos. Also can't wait to get back from Montreal. As I'll be taking my gf shopping for her first bike.😁
Yay!!!!! 😃😃😃
