HAIR TALK PART 2 -what is good hair?

Hair Talk is a 8 part short documentary focusing on Afrocentric hair in American culture. (I will post each part every Saturday).
In the past ten years, a movement reemerged in the African American community: women started to celebrate their natural hair aesthetic again. Evidence of this movement can be seen in social media. On UA-cam there are tutorial videos of healthy hair practices for afro textured hair. There are hair blogs to support women on maintaining their natural hair, as well as numerous images of hairstyles that can be attained with afro textured hair. This topic has also been addressed in the music industry from India Arie’s song, “I Am Not My Hair”, in popular children's television show Sesame Street “I love my Hair,” in children’s literature Nappy Hair by Carolivia Herron, and in the mainstream film Good Hair by Chris Rock.
The purpose of this film is to add to the discussion of black hair culture, open new grounds and reach out to more people.
