For iOS you start doing an emote and then quickly swipe down the brightness/volume settings thing from the corner or swipe up so the game is just a little window. It looks like the game's frozen but it's actually just running much slower in the background, and if you hit record before minimizing the game it will record in slow motion. I haven't tried this on android so I don't know if it works on that. Then you add like ten million filters on it.

I record on iOS, which records without UI when you use the in-game video button. Android doesn't remove the UI unfortunately :(
