Despite a lot of things happening that I don’t particularly like, I actually loved this episode and I think all the drama set up for it was really well planned out, they could’ve dragged the Rory Logan relationship with a misunderstanding of Rory seeing him with his sister from afar but they didn’t, they cleared it up right away. And Logan’s family dinner was amazing bc we family get to see his home life, it makes you appreciate his character more knowing the type of ppl and conversations that have surrounded him since he was born, considering everything he is really not as much of rich spoiled brat jerk as he could’ve been, and his relationship with his sister is adorable IMO, they seem like partners in crime against their family and their unreasonable expectations, they demonstrate so much respect and love for each other in so little screen time and I love it.
I like Sookie and Jackson as characters. They’re quirky. Not my favorite, but fun. But my gosh I would never go into business with Sookie. She’s the worst planner of all time. Who gets that pregnant without making a plan about what happens when you’re on leave? She was micromanaging Luke, but what if Lorelei and Luke didn’t step in? Was she ok for her kitchen to be known as one that only serves salads and desserts for 3-4 months? What’s wrong with her? (But I’m also side-eyeing Lorelei for not making sure Sookie had a plan before she left. She knows her and knows she cannot depend on her.)
Before starting the video, "Gee, who is he going to side with...Luke or Sookie?" Edit after: forgot that Rory initially turned down Mitchum. Wish she had stuck to that gut reaction.
GOD, how did I never realize that Logan's mom was Tamara from Dawson's Creek? I've seen both series so many times! Thank you Joe, you just opened my eyes, lol!
12:21 The kind of stuff you realize after watching the show 1000+ times. The Huntzbergers house is the same as the one in the party on season 1 (madeleines house) where Rory kisses Tristan after Dean breaks up with her and Lane meets the Korean guy. Also is the same place as the Genovian embassy on the princess diaries 😅
Nanny was in two or three episodes throughout seasons 2 and 3. I know she attended the graduation, and she was in at least one other episode. I think it was the Romeo and Juliet episode.
Rory was ultimately treated the same way Luke was treated by Emily: Unworthy & unwanted. It felt very parallel and almost like a curse on Emily for choosing to be a snob towards who Lorelai wanted to be with. Having her family name be attacked in being deemed lesser than.
ugh I just hate the Rory&Logan relationship. cause it feels too real how they seem like they almost fit perfectly but in reality they bring the worst out of each otherrrr and that's the kind of thing you see only after you get away from the relationship and take space for a while. Also I though Luke was great in this ep. also Laurelie
@@faureamour Yeah, she's not my favorite or anything but I genuinely like her, she has flaws but so does everyone. Jackson's okay, not a favorite but he's done nothing that has made me passionately hate on him and have a bit of a freak out every single time he's on the screen. 😂 Unfortunately, I usually just skip over any Sookie/Jackson parts in the reaction because (at least in the edited) reaction every time they're on screen Joe just makes loud grunting noises and talks about how much he hates Jackson over any scenes (no offense to Joe) - which makes the scene pointless to watch a reaction of. I really reaaaalllly wish he'd just edit Jackson/Sookie parts out of the edited version as making grunting noises like an old man over the scene just takes up time in the edit that could be replaced with a scene he actually enjoys, and I'd *personally* prefer to watch him watch the stuff he enjoys in the edited version, rather than complaining about a character nearly EVERY SINGLE TIME. Just my opinion though! 🤷🏻♀ I doubt that'll happen though so I'll just keep skipping those parts!
One of my least favorite episodes. Just makes me uncomfortable all around. Logan's initial freakout, Doyle's behavior, Sookie's excessive need for full control, Logan's family. Paris' nanny and Lor & Luke are great though. Rory acts kinda entitled too after being attacked which brings her down to Logan's family's level in a way, focusing on status ("I'm a Gilmore") and the lack of respect to her title and not on how no one deserves this treatment regardless of status. Edit: Lol, forgot about Jackson attacking Luke. Oh boy 🙄
I don’t think Rory was acting entitled one bit, she knows how this rich white ppl world works by now, she was shocked that by THEIR standards her being a Gilmore wasn’t enough, not bc SHE thinks being a Gilmore makes her any better than anyone but bc she knows that to THESE ppl that status would normally bc cause for high praise and acceptance.
@@secretyidentity2833 I think the mature thing would have been to not try to prove her worth by her family name but recognize she doesn't have to prove anything to them. She handled the Chilton bullies so much better and had backbone. I feel like her shift towards entitlement already showed by having "her Dean" cheat on his wife. I'm not saying her reaction here is not understandable and she's young and influenced by the people around her, but I liked her more when she was younger tbh
@@secretyidentity2833Exactly. Some fans seem to look much harder for things to judge about Rory’s character than they do at most of the main characters.
@@TheBigMe0w again, when she says “I’m a Gilmore” she is not trying to prove her worth or say that THAT SHOULD make her worthy, she is saying “I don’t understand why these rich classicists who normally DO think that what makes someone worthy is family names/class status, don’t think I’m worthy despite me having the name and status of a Gilmore and meeting that standard”. She doesn’t actually think that her going to Chilton or Yale makes her better than anyone, she mentions those bc she knows thats the framework within which THEY operate. That’s not HER value system, she is shocked that within THEIR value system they still don’t consider her worthy
i feel like jackson would get angry if you had a male friend or something. not to mention didnt he get pissed off at sookie for using someone else’s produce?? please haha
Okay, now this time it was blatant. Although I dont care for the way Logan's grandfather treated the couple, how you made it clear that because he was old that it was ok if he were dead. That's ageism. Not all 55 years of age and older people are silly or deserving of death. Dont worry that will come. Although, it feels to me that because they are older they dont have any purpose left for your world. It's not only offensive how older people are portrayed on this show, but how you make them seem like they are disposable because they are. Just putting it out there after seeing your attitude with ageism before.
Keep in mind my favorite character in this show is Emily, but go off icon 🫡 (old blokes in teen dramas are typically the worst characters in said shows, no clue what you’re wafflin on about)
but this old dude WAS extremely annoying as are most old people 😭 i think his attitude towards him was fair….a lot of the old people in this show are horrible which is why he says what he says and i agree LOL i don’t think he’s being ageist….
Well then what’s the issue?😭the old guy in this was a mean old twat, so I called him that, there are plenty of ‘old characters’ that I really like but they have to be well written just like every one else (Tywin, Emily Gilmore, every old person from Breaking Bad, Ross and Monica’s parents, the grandpa in Derry Girls, John Locke, Jiraya, the Queen in bridgerton, I could go on. I don’t know where this ‘ageist’ thing has been pulled from 😂
So Sukie is not the cool girl bestie matching Lorelei's energy because the Palladinos were kinda really mysongistic (and it was the vibe of the 2000's sadly). Rory and Lorelai are VERY pick me coded, the 'not like other girls' girl.
Not agreeing or disagreeing, i just find that observation interesting because they have vehemently described themselves as super feminist and very left leaning. Now im going to consciously look for it 😅

Me neither! Not only that he created the cannon for Shira. If you don’t know you’ll find out next season.

@@marylubrano9112 That's right, she was - she came to pick Paris up.
Logan' dad also plays Quin's dad on GLee. He's good at playing the sucky father.
In the words of New Found Glory: “And it’s all down hill from hereeeeee!!”
😂😂😂😂😂

Logan definitely shares his father's smooth talker quality
There was a police officer when they investigated the horrible crime of a chalk outline outside Taylor's store back in S2! Courtesy of Jess ofc.
I knew this was going to be a rough episode for you lol. And it was highly entertaining for me.
I forgot that Logan's mom is Ms. Jacobs on Dawsons Creek

is there even one person on the planet who genuinely likes Sookie and/or Jackson?
Believe it or not yes, I got dragged across the coals for dunking on Sookie back in season 1😂
Yes - plenty of people.
Yes, I like Sookie. She's a fun character. Not top 10 because this is an epic cast, but fun. Jackson is whatever, but I don't dislike him.
for me sookie is good she just has her moments and jackson is just irrelevant to me😭

Yep.. it is almost in time to hate Rory.. and love Jess. The final of 5 season is huge
Holy crap they don't have any proper sous/assistant chefs, lol. OK. I know GG and realistic work environments aren't a thing.
Loved the reaction!!! ❤ When are u coming with next vampire diaries video??
