    The thing about “ burning calories”. First what is a calorie? It’s a unit of heat. You don’t burn heat. 2. Fat is catabolic. That means the it happens at night. I’ve studied this for years btw. Anyway. Anabolic is building. Catabolic is breaking down. Day vs night. In other words, anabolic is a fat state catabolic is fasting state. Things that affect catabolism like is not getting good sleep. This is why they all say when a person is dieting and trying to lose weight that you’ve got to get sleep. If you don’t get good sleep, this really affects the breakdown of fat. It’s quite complex, and it goes deeper than this but this is an explanation of why you don’t burn a calorie. A calorie from a carrot is completely different from the calorie of a piece of meat. It’s the insulin response. Just to clear this up for people.

      Actually, a dietary/food calorie (the ones on the labels) is a kilocalorie, 1000 calories. It’s a unit of energy. Thermal energy (“heat”) is one form of energy, there are others - mechanical, gravitational potential, etc. All can be measured in calories, though physicists typically use joules. Food calories are intended to be a measure of the energy that can be derived from metabolizing a given amount of some food. It is complicated in some ways (basic metabolic rate, NEAT or non-exercise activity thermogenesis, exercise metabolism, glycogen storage, etc.) but, in the end, it’s thermodynamics.

    Nice video! I bought the Urban Rebounder years ago and still use it. I start off with the bounces like you.....then I do high knee jogs for 100 counts to rev up the heart....and then jumping jacks on the rebounder. I do all of that to get my body going and then walk for a mile because I love the outdoors....sunshine...rabbits and birds and use it as a prayer walk. So you can do both! Blessings and Jesus loves you!

    Cool video. I love your channel. My husband and I've been carnovire since July 2021. Since then I've been rebounding and weight training. I watch Tabatha songs on UA-cam and do 6 songs which are about 5 min each. I loved that they have 8 rounds on each song and the music is great and adds to the intensity of the workout. I rebound 3 x a week. My a1c is 4.8. I 'm in the best.shape of my life at 65. Wish I had known this information a long time ago. Having a spouse to share in this way of eating is the best. Good luck on your journey.

    I have done this experiment before myself and my opinion is that the heart rate monitor is not accurate when you're bouncing. If my heart rate was really in the 130s I'd be sweating and unable to talk in an unlabored manor.

    • @StevenSteph
      @StevenSteph  4 місяці тому +2

      When you train on a rebounder the bouncing motion engages your muscles and gets your heart pumping, which increases your heart rate. However, because rebounding is low-impact, it might not make you sweat or breathe as heavily as higher-impact exercises. Plus, individual fitness levels and environmental factors can affect sweating and breathing during exercise. I dont sweat or breath heavy until my heart rate is in the 150-170 range.
      Thanks for watching

      I agree. My tracker recorded a super high heart rate and I wasn't even winded at all. When my heart rate is up I have labored breathing and sweat for sure. When I did the rebounding I was shocked to see what it said my heart rate was. There's just no way.
