I totally agree about player AP....the first time I played this...ugh...one player took thirty minutes to make up their mind.
But that said....really enjoyed the game. Thanks Jon.
Hi Jon !
Very nice and complete review, I played only once by now and thanks to you I'm looking forward for my next play !
I would add another major negative point with the rulebook (I didn't watch the video completely so sorry if you mentionned it) : problably the worst I've ever read !! A lot of repetitions and a very poor page layout.
Also I own the standard version and I was disapointed that the Keyper are difficult to differenciate from the Keyples : I found it obvious that Keypers should have been oversized (they are the masters after all :-)).
Except these 2 complains I enjoyed a lot the first game, no AP (had the "good" players around the table), and found that downtime was correct.
Perhaps I should have mentioned the rulebook, but I didn't have any issues with it. I was taught the game first, and then read the rules after which I think REALLY helped with understanding how the game was supposed to work.
Great review! I was concerned about analysis paralysis from those I play with before you mentioned it. Still haven't done a Richard Breese game. How is the set-up time?
I feel like explanation time is a bigger issue than setup time. Setup time seems pretty low.
Would definitely sit down to play this game anywhere anytime (-:
