Great seeing you use the trailer. My trick on my little trailer is to put flattened cardboard on the floor so stuff slides off and minimum sticky mess on the trailer. Have a wonderful New Year!
What I love about a dump trailer is that every time you use it, you have the opportunity to do a check over EVERYTHING, before putting the dump bed back down. You can check wiring, brakes, axles, rust, especially tires; everything. I found an electric brake problem the day it happened, one time, because something at the site kicked up and severed the wire to a tire. I usually took the time, every month (if there was no one around after pulling forward) to grease fittings with a quick shot from a grease gun and spray lube wherever. If owners take a few tiny extra minutes, there’s no reason why a dump trailer cannot be one of the best maintained trailers on the road.
Big Truck Big RV Always kept grease, spray lube, WD-40, and rust prevention paint accessible at the tongue, and a cheap electrical tester, wire nuts, tire plug kit, and hydraulic fluid with the trailer. 99% of any problems go away. With $20 of supplies and a critical eye.
How is the trade off with living in a nice neighborhood vs. rural living? I would find having to use a storage facility for my trailers and boats irritating, I would however like walking my dogs and slow speed traffic of a neighborhood. I live next to a 55 acre family farm on a 2 acre lot,
Both have their perks. The short commute and less wind being the biggest perk of living in a neighborhood. The space and privacy is clearly in the rural properties advantage
Why did you derate down to 12k instead of 14k or 16k? I have a 2008 duramax with a 9200 gvwr so I was looking at getting a 16k trailer to stay under cdl.
Where do you have your emergency brake cable hooked? I've been experimenting with different ways to hook it and haven't yet found a way I like, just yet.
Emergency trailer brake cable should not be connected in this fashion. Should be connected to tow vehicle independent from the hitch and tow chains. Should have a separate connection point on tow vehicle frame or another connection point so as if the hitch assembly fails the emergency brakes on the trailer would engage. My 2 cents.
Agree. It did look twisted. Also I believe it should be connected to a completely separate connection on the truck independent from the safety chains or hitch. (In case the hitch completely fails).
have any of you hooked up a trailer? When the chains are too long and will drag on the ground you twist it to shorten it. When the trailer comes off the ball the trailer will be craddled in the X of the chains. What is unsafe about it?
We are not talking about the safety chains. We are talking about the emergency brake cable. He put it through the safety chains. It’s incorrect. Should be connected separately and independent from hitch on tow vehicle.
In Arizona, you are required by law to have any load covered. The state police will pull you over, fine you, and impound your trailer for not having the load covered. Harsh, but a law I stand behind.

Should consider rhino lining the inside of trailer
You think you over exaggerated the weight of the load? Nice trailer, but you don't have to justify it to us. Would have easily fit into the bed of the truck. lol
NotAFuckinPplPerson yeah he said 7k gross and the thing weighs nearly 5k empty. So bingo, a ton as you said but so did he. Not sure why people are hating on him showing us the trailer.
Id have the inside of it bedlined. Look better then the paint all scratched up after some uses. Even can bedline it red if you really wanna keep that red color
There is nothing better than having the right piece of equipment for the task at hand

A small stoke of genius here! Methinks I shall be using your cardboard method from now on. Good idea!
Thanks for sharing JD. Looking forward to seeing the mods you're going to do.
Damn fancy trailer....

Very good point my friend.

One thing is certain, if I'm ever in Corpus Christi I'll know my way around.
It only has a ton of capacity? 7:47
7k lbs to the 12k rating but 14,500lbs to the max capacity.
KLC LAWN & LANDSCAPING no, 7000 pounds, so 3.5 ton capacity. He explains it all after that.
Been that push broom attachment for clean out at the dump.

Do you align your axles
I haven't but you should if you're experiencing alignment or tire wear issues
Ok thank you

GVWR on his F-450 is 14K
Our landfill in the Hill Country of Texas charges a extra fee if your trailer isnt covered with a tarp.
Gary Hawthorn same here it’s like $10

Looped through the chain loops

Most people connect the Emergency brake cable incorrectly. Tow vehicle hitches fail. Not often ... but it does happen.
Big Truck Big RV think that's illegal
When I tell my wife I'm going out to take a dump😉👌
Why didn’t you show the clean out?
why are you twisting the emergency chain? That's not safe. Like the trailer.
Agree. It did look twisted. Also I believe it should be connected to a completely separate connection on the truck independent from the safety chains or hitch. (In case the hitch completely fails).
Looks like the cable is a bit too long. But agree on separate hook up location.

Can any manufacturer be asked to derate a trailer like this one was?

Stuff doesn't slide easy in that stuff

That load filled most of a 7x14' trailer, wouldn't have fit in my truck. Plus, it was nasty.
Big Truck Big RV not even close. there was plenty more room to go. lol. that probably was a ton max
NotAFuckinPplPerson yeah he said 7k gross and the thing weighs nearly 5k empty. So bingo, a ton as you said but so did he. Not sure why people are hating on him showing us the trailer.
weirdest landfill I ever saw.
That's the drop-off location
Id have the inside of it bedlined. Look better then the paint all scratched up after some uses. Even can bedline it red if you really wanna keep that red color
Bedlining a dump trailer makes it very difficult for loads to slide down.
@@BTBRVReviews oh makes sense
Should have recycled some of it
nice trailer trashy tenants are terrible
Lol
All that wasted money spent storing your trailers
