- A bit late to the party but typically this was officially announced as I was going to work yesterday & didn't get home until late last night. So this is the first chance I will have had to talk about this. Anyway, remember to keep things respectful! What's your thought on the short tenure of Michael Beale at Sunderland coming to an end?

Great stuff mate. Regarding Dodds. He might not want the job permanently at the moment. He seems happy as first team coach and the director of football seems to be happy with him in that role. Must be a difficult job to come in as a head coach without having any of your people around you that you know or have had a working relationship with. Even Mowbray had Mark Venus as a sound board stroke coaching partner cheers
Hi Michael - Really enjoyed your well spoken and considered comments. I was willing to give Beale a chance, and posted about that as his record at Rangers & Villa with Gerrard was good. I also said that our ruthless management would get rid if he didn't deliver - never thought they were that ruthless! If fake twitter account reports are true, that's a big red flag to me about his personality.
Signing a coach could be even more difficult than a striker. Kim Hellberg has had poor pre-season results with Hammarby. Will Still only has 2 points from last 5 games (I'm also a bit ambivalent about him since his denial of any contact with SAFC). I thought Pochettino seemed a great fit for Chelsea, but it's not working yet. Schumacher was brilliant at Plymouth, but currently underwhelming at Stoke. There's a lot of cases where a foreign coach has worked, but also a lot where it hasn't. Other times a coach has been great at one club and poor at the next. I hope Dodds does well and if not, we get lucky and pick the right coach.
Agree very much about DM over striker- Styles has played as a DM a few times, and hopefully he can strengthen midfield, even if just allowing a bit of rotation - he's played over 100 Championship games, let's hope he's as good as his grandad Nobby!
at our best we can win 6/7 home games left just depends if we get the away form improved, Cardiff and watford we can defo beat, just depends on the other teams.
the problem we face against teams who regroup a lot won't be over by changing manager (ie the Clark over reliance), as long as we don't change our circuits and find a cf who can play back to the goal and distribute to Clarke, Ekwah, Roberts, Ba etc. Season is over I would say, let's just start to play differently cause Clarke, Ballard and Neil will be gone in the summer I think

The last three managers have been treated very shabbily by the club. If you had a scrap of self respect would you come and work for these blokes? And when three managers have gone in a way like they have it demonstrates a total failure of ownership / leadership. When you get out an out-of-depth kid as owner and so much trust put behind the scenes in Speakman this is what you get. I hoped Pearlman coming on the board might have a brought a bit of maturity / class, but nah. As a fan I feel embarassed how Sunderland managers get shafted
Neil got a contract and signed it, then threw toys out of pram as he wanted another onw. Mowbray wasn't coaching the players to stop making stupid mistakes. Beale wasn't up for it.

Defending Speakman ain’t a hill worth dying on. Speakman has been toxic for quite a while and Beale’s appointment was to deflect from his own behaviour. It was obvious Beale was never up to the job and Speakman’s bigging him up was total BS. There is a cancer at the heart of our club. It’s called cashing in while selling a feel good factor. No coach/manager who wants a long-term career would touch this job with a barge pole unless the pay is astronomical in the short term. Time for a clear out, including Dreyfuss unless he can indicate sincerity towards this club and its fans.
