Always view footage from 80's and 90's. See the older stock and appreciate how the quality has improved. I started with Super 8 cine. Cost was £3.00 for 3 minutes which included processing.
I live near Croston, a friend of mine lives in the old station house. On the east side of the line both north and south of the station are now new housing estates
The Fleetwood branch line as far as Burn Naze isnt derelict. It was 'not in use' for years. However, the junction at Poulton has now been lifted because a hertiage railway group wants to attempt running trains from Poulton through Thornton, Burn Naze and re lay track into Fleetwood. They thought it was a good idea to give in to Network Rail and agree to severe the junction in return for having more control of the line. Although they have two locos under restoration and a few volunteers at Fleetwood, the line will not make it into the town without government money. And seeing as they gave up the junction at Poulton, that means they have a cat in hells chance.
I worked in Blackpool from 1973-76 but didn't have a video camera. ( if only?). I see the lines to Blackpool are electrified, so I must come up from Cardiff one day to update my videos of the area
@@TheMichaelWilcock2016Railways Yes, electrified and Blackpool North platforms revamped. Grand Central have just been given approval for more direct trains from Blackpool to London.
