I haven't maxed out the range yet... I'm still looking for a good area to test its full range.. but i would never go far if I know that there is something huge that can block my reception..
I actually plan to do something similar with my rc truck but the vtx is going to be 3000mw 5.8ghz with a 5000mw 2.4ghz rc range extender so that I can get the most range on the ground oh and the 3000mw vtx is rated for 6 miles at max power
FPV ground is the hardest since there are more objects on the ground that can affect your signal you can easily reach that distance if you are flying a drone or a plane.
I think the worst way to drive an RC car is to use it as an Bomb, but idk...

Currently using a rush tank solo... Do not use cheap vtx and antenna if you want good quality video feed
