eastern/persian style warfare is interesting and a nice change from the normal western elite infantry fights, by any chance can you get 2 skilled people to play steppe factions?
A most interesting one. The builds mirrored each other, yet the differences that were there were quite impactful in determining how they engaged. The unarmored horse archers would likely have suffered had they tried to push up in the skirmishing phase like the armored ones did. The noble blood cav had to wait for the extra cataphracts to spend their charge at something else, and so forth.
@@loneberserker4642 Thank you for your answer! He is definitely a good player, otherwise he wouldn't last long against Sol. As a fellow Iranian, I wish him luck and I hope to see more of his battles in the future.
Most ranged cav are good at killing light skirms like slingers and archers. Add that to the constant pressure of fast moving skirmishers and they become an annoying thing to face. They're also easily forgotten about when they pull away and hide. Also given the fact that land battle armies usually consist of lots of cavalry, having mounted skirms as opposed to foot skirms allows them to stay alive and poses less of a risk.
Armenia had to go with noble horse archers other than cataphract . Regular cataphracts get tired just by moving around and after first charge useless as you can't even pull them out of fight after 10 seconds.

Awesome, cant wait to see if my replay gets covered! They were some close fights.
Historical! love seing 2 cav heavy matchups
Great battle from both players. Khosrow Anushirvan is the name of a famous Sassanid king. I wonder if the player is from Iran as well...
he is. He changes his name a lot. But he's a good player.

Good battle . Enjoyed it
Great fight, cool to see Armenia and Parthia not just get crushed
Heir any idea why this year meta armies usually include allot of ranged calvary?

Harrassing and dealing damage to heavy cav, running down skirmishers, forcing opponent's cav to choose between forcing a fight or keep getting shot
@@brainletfag Yeah, and that.
Its so hard to get the right build with Armenia
Doesn’t seem so much the build as it is the timing/engagement choice
