    Funny story. When Cass opened up his school in the late 80's in Reseda, I was one of the early students who came from another local school ( Kuk Sool) and figured it would be good to broaden my skills. The downside was that because I was a black belt and had some proficiency, I ended up being his test dummy for a summer. Needless to say it was a very painful summer. I should of never told Cass my background.

    How can you be following the JKD philosophy if you practice various styles of martial arts like Penjat Silat??? The statement is contradictory and hypocritical and it only took him 25 seconds to do so... congratulations:-).

      Excuse me sir, the first 25 seconds does not account for the last six minutes of the interview. With that said, Cass Magda had trained under Dan Innosanto, whom of which was Bruce Lee's top student(You would know that if you watched the rest of the video or if you knew anything about JKD Linage). So before you close-mindedly bash the interview, remember what Bruce taught about open-mindedness.

      Jack Writer Hey, let me tell you something that you don't fucking know sunshine, I've trained with Cass many times and he wanted to certify me back in the late 80's, so don't bother trying to school me about JKD lineage I'm a 2nd generation JKD instructor also, so save your bollocks for a teenager who still has his after birth behind his ears.
      I've trained with Hartsell, Inosanto, Sterling, Wong, Glover, Curruthers, Carnell, Young, Carrigan, Daniel Lee, Junod, Bob Bremmer, etc, etc, and I've been certified by Sifu's Jerry Poteet, Richard Bustillo, Perter Grills and Paul Johnson. I don't talk smack about shit that I don't know about so save your breath. I've watched more video's on JKD than you've clocked up wanks in your moms bed with your dads socks on your hands for effect.
      Don't fucking ASSUME shit about me because you'll be DEAD FUCKING WRONG!!!
      Have a great day:-).

      Surely you should know the answer to that. Because having no limitation as limitation. Never ending, constant improvement etc. etc.

    • @therealawakener7
      @therealawakener7 8 років тому +1

      Mark Welsh Surely you should understand that trying to improve oneself doesn't mean adding endlessly. Lee said hack away at the nonessentials. The statement of 'Having no limitation as limitation' isn't rocket science either, it's easy to grasp, perhaps you missed it.
      Of course there are limitations in life the point is you cannot know what yours are until you've honestly pushed on towards them. Lee's just telling us all to try harder to plummet the depths of ourselves. You don't improve by becoming a stylist upon stylist, Lee was anti styles. Cass Magda has got back in the boat.

      So why train with all those people? lol Why train at all? If it is about chipping away & constant reduction, careful you may end up left with nothing at all. Plus pretty sure most the people you mention got back in the boat whether it to learn bjj or whatever. There is no end to learning & nothing stopping you moving away from the style after you've learnt it. I'm sure Guro Cass Magda knows how better than most.
