For anyone following along and wondering why your links aren't ordering correctly. I made a small error in the SOQL query in the apex controller. This should be the SOQL query:
    SELECT MasterLabel, gAuto__Link_URL__c, gAuto__Open_in_console_tab__c, gAuto__Order__c FROM gAuto__Utility_Bar_Link__mdt WHERE gAuto__Active_Link__c = TRUE ORDER BY gAuto__Order__c ASC
You need to query for the field in the ORDER BY clause to allow it to order and I forgot to add it in. Additionally we need it to order lowest number to highest number so we need to add the ASC (ascending) keyword to our query.

This was a solid tutorial. I'd like to request content for a deeper dive in how to leverage custom metadata to make items more configurable. Example: LWC forms + Flow Builder ~ ordering input fields then mapping user inputs to object fields to create records/data.

Great idea, I'll see what I can come up with and make it a topic for voting on a future video!

IntelliJ is free but the Salesforce plugin IlluminatedCode2 costs $90 a year. Considering how much time it saves me every single day it's well worth it in my personal opinion.
