Jaygee: great musicality，original feeling, groovy, subtle footwork and nasty angle. Kite: harder pop and dime stop, strong legwork, more complex limbs space and clever battle tactics. In popping battle I think kite surely win but if it is a freestyle I think it should be a tie.
Kite is an ultra refined popper who's killed many victims. He's reinvented himself to compete with the new generations. Only thing I think he's missing is some groove, if he were to dance for a few seconds in between the popping seriousness he'd be even more beastly.
He said he made his moves clearer in battle. If you saw him losing groove, because it was his strategy for battle. And it worked well, he won all matches in BBIC 2017.
it's baffling to see Jaygee constantly losing to Hoan, Kite, Hozin, etc. with such performances, I guess it's due to that he's been growing his puppet boogaloo style into perfection , which hurts him competitively. Same story goes with Kei. Their battle style just really tend to be one dimension with variations, and it's hard to win a tournament with such style.
Fan Zhao totally agree, not to take anything away from their talent but judging wise you have to acknowledge if someone brings several styles to a battle.
I agree with you Fan Zhao and, in my opinioin, the "problem" is that this is a POPPIN BATTLE: Jaygee puts too much focus on his puppet style and he forgets to POP with energy and, on the other side, he watchs the crowd 99% of the time. 1st, this is a battle and he must face the opponent 80-90% of the time, not the opposite... and 2nd, in popping battle, POP is the first thing you have to focus (with groove obviusly): boogaloo, puppet, animation, wawing, comes after... Jaygee is my favourite dancer but, for me, he will continue to lose battling Hoan, Kite, Hozin, Poppin J or other poppers that are, on his level, but more battle & pop "oriented". My 2 cents... :)
