Backpacking Rawah Trail | Beautiful Lakes and Scenery

Backpacking Rawah Trail was our first glimpse into the Rawah Wilderness in north central Colorado.
We made it to the Lost Lake trail junction and dropped off our packs so we could cover more ground with less weight on our backs. Then we were able to see several of the beautiful Rawah Lakes though we didn't make it quite as far as we had hoped. But that just gives us a reason to return and explore more later. On our way back to our backpacks, we followed a small side trail to see Upper and Lower Sandbar Lakes which we were glad that we did. After we returned to our bags, we made the final journey to look for a camp spot near Lost Lake. We though Lost Lake had a unique beauty to it and really enjoyed wandering around the lake by our camp spot the next morning. Backpacking in the Rawah Wilderness was a wonderful experience.
The gorgeous scenery, abundance of adorable mushrooms and solitude were some of the highlights of this backpacking trip! And this was our first time hearing a chorus of elk bugles as we drifted to sleep.
