Just duplicate the Match color final layer and reduce opacity of the top layer and it gets as good as identical result as the curves...far quicker...do an A-B with Match color and the curves version and theres no noticable difference...
I use Affinity Photo, and I have figured out how to follow this process in Affinity. And this has made a huge difference, thanks!!!

What about making an average blend of the image to the left, paste that over the image to the right in color blend mode?

There is also a selective colour adjustment method using check layers. Do you use this method? Or curves is your preference?
Curves is definitely my preference, although I do use selective color when targeting specific colors in an image.
