I definitely see why I haven’t heard a song yet by them that’s bad ! An there love songs are very beautiful .. they made it in my top 5 as well .. I appreciate you giving my channel a look ms Kathy peace n love ☮️
They also covered many Beatles-songs. And George Martin, former producer of fab four, called them absolutely high standard pros. When they started to harmonize, it's always a thrill. And here the voices in the leadparts by Barry and Robin are to call heavenly.
A beautiful song written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, also covered by The Shirelles. The Bee Gees do a good job. Please also check out some Carole King from her album Tapestry.
Long time -- it's been a minute! That's okay-- I forgive you🙃😄💕Thank you for selecting this RARE cover by the Bee Gees to honor Carole King's masterpiece of a song! She has said it was the best cover of "WYSLMT" and her favorite! Yes, they have a gift for changing with the current sound. So gifted!
I wasn't going to leave a comment but you said something that triggered me so I have to leave this comment. When you said you loved the R&B feel of this song with the Bee Gees I figured I'd comment this out so you know at least one R&B group that they like and pattern their R&B sound after. They were big fans of the R&B groups The Delfonics and The Stylistics. My favorite R&B groups back in the day.
They were making music til 2001. Barry is still making music. A few more recent songs For Whom the Bell Tolls, Alone, I Surrender, She Keeps on coming, Sacred Trust, walking. On air, and Wedding Day. ❤❤
This is one they didn't write. They recorded it for a tribute album for Carole King's Tapestry album. The whole album is top notch, I wore my copy out.
Arif Mardin, who is directing the orchestra in the video, gave The Bee Gees a swift kick in the butt to change their style to R&B in the 70's and it really saved their career. Their ballads and psychedelia from the '60's was and still is great but went out of style for some listeners. The public is fickle and tastes change but eventually come back in fashion as their stuff always did. Good music endures in spite of changing times.
@@joycestroup8830 - Mardin said, "OK boys we're starting over from scratch", and they did. He was the one who told them if they didn't change and get some hits Atlantic would drop them and they were done. They listened. He was right.
My favorite version of this song. ❤❤❤
They made a great song an amazing song.
My top 5. First time hearing this I cried. Beautiful ❤

Me too. Teared up with Robin. And I miss Maurice’s smile. ❤

The Bee Gees certainly lead the musical charge in the 70s.
