Using all three is for cold temperatures. Of course, everybody has different body heat and temperature tolerances. It is always a good idea to try it out.
I like being warm when I'm out
@@RedBranchBushcraft Didn’t you say that you woke up all toasty? 😁 But hey, great review!
@usptact lol, cheers buddy, it's a great system but I wouldn't want to be carrying it any distance
He can be taught! I have owned a lot of these over the years when they were actually affordable and still own a few sets. I love mine a lot and it is still one of my most trusted bits of sleeping kit.
Great job
I figured you were going to be too hot when you put the whole thing together. And yes you can put a sleeping pad under it
Works great
Sleeping in Darth Vader's helmet lol 😁 they' seem to be a great sleep system a lot of people recommend them..👍
Their great
I love the side zip on mine. So much easier to get in and out.
It's handy alright, plenty of room to
@@RedBranchBushcraft I put the UL80 sleep mat in mine and a good sleeping, then its cosy.
Tryed them all the best one to date is the nl dpm observer bivi it is the dogs bollocks great bit of kit
Atb wooly with it.
Cheers Shaun, is that like the sas double hooped bivy?
@@RedBranchBushcraft No pal it is the same as the carinthia observer plus but it is in dpm and not olive
The one i have is dated 2002 and made by carintha but two other companys made them as well only problem you can not get the dpm version there like hens teeth to get hold of you have to be lucky
Atb
New to your channel was thinking about ordering a British sleep system over here to the states. But it sounds like it would be to tight for me. Im a big boy and I wouldn't wanna go any smaller than the us military mss system. Ive slept in those down to -18° fahrenheit i dont know what that is there, but here its pretty cold 🥶
Wow, yes the mmss is definitely bigger
BA bivvy for me, but too heavy to carry. Looking for a thick roll mat. Got a Exped flexmat plus that was great but that has compressed after minimal use. Have previously had a Dutch Army 1.8 cm which was OK but not ideal for me. Can you recommend any super thick non inflatable mats
British army 4 season matt's are pretty good, cheap enough to
Any good for lightweight camping / trekking. Is it too heavy / bulky? Seems it’s half the weight of the British sleep system at 2.8kg.
All these sleep systems are big and bulky
I’d be worried if you were cold in that in June lol
Lol, I think this was recorded in April ish , might have even been before
Let u off woolly thought u were going soft lol👍
Lol
Looks a grand job that so worth investing in system? As to buying both seperately
I'd shop around, see which is cheaper
Did you have do deal with any condensation issues?
Not that I've noticed
what is rolf harris doing in the woods
That's where I live now, can you tell what it is yet?
I have a question. Should i go with the MSS or the Carinthia Defence 6 + Snugpak Special Forces Bivy?
Wow, what brilliant options, my heart would say defence 6 as carinthia is unreal quality and build , but I'd get a gore Tex bivy
@@RedBranchBushcraft Ok so the Defence 6 in combination with the MSS bivy?
@@Jakelol1980 seems like a better pairing, what temperatures are you planning
@@RedBranchBushcraft about -20° to -25° at most but normaly about -10° celsius and that with all my clothes on and extra wool socks on.
@@Jakelol1980 if I had an opportunity to get a defence 6 I'd jump at it
Great video like always and always remember to follow your nose!🍁🦫#stealthcampingalliance
