Fun fact: Shadow and Knuckles were originally planned to make an appearance in Unleashed. This would have made sense, given GUN’s concern for the world’s fracture and that the master emerald was needed at the end of the game.
Edit: This would’ve been a great opportunity to implement couch co op.

Would’ve made it so much more fun? Don’t get me wrong it’s still a great game now, but think about the possibilities of what Unleashed would’ve done with knuckles and Shadow and who knows, what if we got a werehog shadow

@@sameergill-raza711 Well the way I pictured it, Shadow and Knuckles would be second player alternatives, or they’d allow for the player to be a strength type character during the day (Knuckles) and a speed character during the night (Shadow). Just an idea.
I like how the skybox is from the Wii version, it's very colorful and mixing both versions look quite nice. Knuckles is alot of fun to mess around with. Hoping we get some of the night levels with more platforming like Rooftop Run Night. Adding obstacles to avoid while climbing up the clock tower would be cool.

Knuckles (along with Shadow) was originally planned to be in Unleashed and rumored to be playable. If Knuckles being playable was true, then it would've been during the Night levels

Originally we were going to have Knuckles and Shadow as playable characters but it got scrapped most probably because Sega has learned the wrong things from 2006
Yes!!! It makes much more sense to have Knuckles fill werehogs spot. All we need now is a rewrite of the story and we have a 3D Sonic & Knuckles

This game was meant to be a Halloween game with all the promos and the site with the Night of the Werehog movie on that site, it should have came at that month and it was an amazing idea to show Sonic's willpower and why even with the corrupting dark essence of Dark Gaia has has in his body, he's still himself with only a few negative traits but still himself.

Wasn't it rumored back when Unleashed came out that Sega was planning on adding Knuckles as DLC for the night stages exactly (more or less) like this?

wish the emulators had a working version that can run sonic unleash I miss the game so badly it was literally so perfect I loved both day and night stages, night stages were long and slow giving me time to explore, relax and enjoy the beauty and creativity of the well designed maps and scenery, day stages felt like a true sonic game letting you blast through with great speed and intensity letting you truly feel what it's like to be Sonic the hedgehog. I love Sonic Unleash and I want to play it again so badly!
Knuckles with God of War Styled combat would've been awesome, but I'm still a fan of the Werehog though most of what I do is spam the Were-Wheel Rush (melts healthbars at max strength in any stage), Egg Scrambler, and both Shoryuken variants for an air combo (usually Y Y A or Y Y Y A).
Knux still fits perfectly in these stages though.

The fighting section suddenly makes sense with Knuckles.
Knuckles does the fighting while Sonic does the Running.
Would make for interesting Knuckles versus Eggman boss fights too.
