Hey John-Paul:) I'm a 26 year old guy from the U.S. I just wanted to say thank you so much for making these videos. Your channel is criminally underrated. In my heart I really want to go back to school and get a masters in counseling to one day become a licensed therapist. Lately my head keeps coming up with reasons as to why that's a ridiculous idea. Your channel has snapped me out of this and reinvigorated me to follow my dream and get serious about making a plan for myself. I want to one day be able to provide people with the tools so that they can set their own standards for happiness and fulfillment, and to understand we are all capable of positive change and growth. Sorry I know this is really long and probably a bit personal. But, your videos have really shook me out of this "I could never do that" headspace and I can't thank you enough for that. I wish you luck on growing your channel, you've now got one more subscriber. Take care and best wishes from Raleigh, North Carolina.

Hi Raleigh, thanks for your message, there’s no need to apologise at all, I was so glad to receive it, what you said really lifted my day : ) Incidentally, I think you write beautifully.
I couldn’t be happier that that’s the effect the videos have had for you, it’s genuinely wonderful to hear. Lots of things about your message also make me think it’s really the right career choice for you. I’d love to hear how it all goes, so do let me know if you ever feel like it, thanks again (and I tend to agree with the criminally underrated btw ; )), John-Paul

@@JohnPaulDaviesTTP Hey thank you so much that really means a lot coming from you! I would be more than happy to update you on my journey going forward, although I have not set out quite yet. Just an idea, would you be open to a short meeting over Zoom (15 minutes) for me to ask a few questions? Absolutely feel free to pass on that as I am sure you have a packed schedule and I am a stranger, to be fair😅. I just figure it wouldn't hurt to ask but no worries at all if you're not interested. Feel free to direct message me if you'd like. Either way thank you for your kind and thoughtful response to my previous comment it means a lot👍

I hear from my friend who’s a therapist it’s a little annoying too. She said especially the ones who want couples therapy but it’s clear their partner wants NOTHING to do with them. Where would you even begin ? Their partner clearly tears them down and no interest in listening .

Yes, must be a really difficult situation to manage and is one of the reasons I’ve never trained as a relationship therapist to be honest!
